This place is a nice place. Rooms feel spacious and keep well. It is a very large facility so not great for personal care. Also don't like that you can not get own prescriptions, you have to pay extra for their med service! Even if you have a med plan that saves a lot of money. Beautiful looking place compared to others. Staff is seem helpful.

We looked at 3 different places. This was smaller. The staff knew the residents by name. The residents smiled and everyone we talked to couldn't say enough nice things about the place. Many had been there for years! The food is great! It looks appetizing and there are MANY options to choose from for picky eaters. They have housekeeping that cleans the rooms each week (included in the monthly rent). Trash is set outside the room each evening to be collected. Maintenance is quick to respond with any issues. There are many activities for residents to get involved. A movie theater, hair salon, greenhouse, and gym. All in a small area that feel like a home town.

I still feel this is one of the nicer facilities. Their only issue is they are large facilities and it takes a very large staff to keep it running. Most staff are friendly. If you are looking at individualized attention then this may be a tougher transition. Seems to be well cared for. Wish it had more staff in memory care. And wished they kept laundry more separate and less random clothes in mom's closet.

1. Overall experience: Rating 4 All good, everyone very nice to me, staff is very inclusive. They felt like family. 2. Cleanliness of the facility. Rating 4 I think they do a good job of keeping the place clean. The housekeepers do a pretty good job of cleaning the residents rooms to. 3. Friendliness Rating 5 Many of the residents went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They all, at some point, ate dinner with me so I could get to know them. I was impressed. 4. Quality of care Rating 4 The quality of care as I know it is pretty good, but I am an independent resident. There wasn't much available when I first got here, but more things are being added. 5. Administrative Staff Rating 5 Staff is great. They are very friendly, helpful, and inclusive. They make me feel like I belong here. 6. Food Rating 3 The food on many days is very good, but it is not consistently good. I am not sure what the answer is, but I know they care and are trying to address it. I eat every day, so it is not that bad. 7. Activities Rating 5 I think our staff do a fabulous job of making sure we have interesting things to do. We have loads of fun. There are plenty of choices from solving puzzles to chair volleyball or word games and sometimes dancing and Happy Hour. Value for the Money Rating 5 I think comparing them to what others offer, they are awesome.

The HVAC system is loud and utility bills are high. Landscaping (lawn, shrub, tree care and leaf removal) could be improved. Several maintenance issues were handled promptly. I like it here and I'm happy I moved here.

Our experience with Chesterwood has all been very pleasant. We received her many boxes to her new cottage. She was only able to sleep there two nights. On her second morning, there she fell and twisted her ankle. While this is not pleasant at all. She was calling for help and help came to her door. [name removed], who signed [name removed] on as a renter was coming by to check in with her. Hearing her calls for help she let herself in and quickly assessing the situation and called for emergency transportation to the hospital. She had fractured her ankle and needed surgery. After surgery, the team at Chesterwood rehabilitation center was able to arrange for her care until she is ready to return to her cottage. I am very grateful for the care my aunt is getting

They don't communicate well as a team. One shift from the next doesn't always know what happened during the day. Or what needs to happen next. Rehabilitation center didn't even know we were there for over an hour, almost 2. Thought memory care would be better but no it's not. Staff very pleasant but not always on top of things. Administration seems great! But once in seems to be on your own. Beautiful facility! Memory care smells like urine a lot, but kinda the nature of place? But don't like that! Rooms look great. Physical therapy staff seems very helpful.

My overall experience has been very good. The staff and residents are very friendly. When you first come in, there is a welcome committee who comes by and explains how things work. Also when you have dinner with the residents, no one sits alone. We will always make sure that everyone has someone to eat with. Our facility is clean. There are housekeepers that work very hard to keep it that way, one of the things I love about it. I believe that the residents have very good care. If we need anything someone's always there to help. They will bring packages up to your room. Any kind of help that you need is always available. This staff goes out of their way to make sure that we have fun here too. We have lots of activities. We have a calendar that we put up that gives a list of activities by day. Each resident gets a copy for themselves. You can go to Happy Hour, play bingo for prizes. There's also chair volleyball, and chair tennis which are a lot of fun, and if you don't want to be that active, you can play card games of your choice, solve puzzles or work with your creative side and create all kinds of stuff on a daily basis, or you can just sit at Scoops, our ice cream parlor, and eat delicious ice cream free. As for the food, for the most part it is good, but there are some times when it isn't. I'm sure it's going to improve. The staff goes out of the way to listen to the residents and try to resolve any issues that come up. I eat every day and I think it's pretty good. If you're looking for a place to stay I think Chesterwood is really excellent it doesn't remind me of a nursing home or anything like that even though we are all older, we enjoy each other's company and there is a lot to do. If you want to live to be 100 you have a good chance of doing it here they keep you plenty busy if you want to be. We also have plenty of exercise classes in case you eat too much.!

We have felt comfortable with the facility and staff. Mom receives attentive care. They allow Mom to sleep in and miss breakfast when she wants to. They have been honest with changes they see in her and help to direct us in solutions. She has not been happy with the food. There are many activities to participate in.

I love my home away from home at Chesterwood. When you enter the building, you feel like you’re walking down a street somewhere I love that! I feel warm and cozy. The people are friendly. They make sure that you never eat alone. They make sure you feel included. The place is clean and it’s warm. Someone asked how I feel about it and what I told them is, I feel warm every day whether the sun is shining or not when I look out of the window, or walk down the hall I feel warm. Oh, and I love the Red Brick Road, a marvel idea.

I would recommend Chesterwood Senior Living to others, as far as the independent living goes. My mom seems to like it. The people are all very friendly. She says that the food is okay, some days are better than others. The housekeeping is good. She has no complaints.

I would recommend Chesterwood Senior Living to other families. The move in was fine. Staff, for the most part, are very friendly and kind. I have not had much interaction with either housekeeping or maintenance, though they were very responsive and helpful.

We are in the cottages and some of our neighbors tell us lots has changed since being sold last year and not for the better but we have been happy so far. Cottage size is good for us, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a small sunroom, living room, dining area and kitchen. Small porch on front and 1 car garage.

Feel free to waste your money or assume their fake introduction and yours translate into care. You will regret this decision every day of your loved ones remaining life. If I could rate this negatively I would they don’t belong in this business not their nurse’s administration especially not their poor excuse for social work case manager. Other than a space creating money they don’t give a [removed] about you which is referenced by their forms that show meds admission and death date not date of discharge. Everything is wrong here from stealing to incorrect meds to falls to discrimination.

My mother has enjoyed Chesterwood Village. It's been a good place for her. She's comfortable there and has made friends that she gets along with well. They all dine together and have conversations. The only negative aspect would be the meals and dining. The quality and taste of the food could be improved- especially chicken, which they serve often. They also have a problem having enough people for serving.

Chesterwood Village is an extremely nice facility. It is bigger so there are a lot of people here and lots of social activities. My loved one is not very social so we felt it was not the right fit for him. For someone who is more social though it would be a great fit, I would go here myself.
