We’re paid by our participating communities if a family member moves into a senior living community or signs up with a home care provider. Our personalized guidance is free to our families.
Our advisors are not compensated based on which community in our network you choose. They are simply incented to help your family find the right solution that meets your needs.
Our interests are aligned to provide the best outcome for your family and help you make a confident decision
Our senior living advisors offer deep knowledge and expertise, and they’re local, so they know the community options in your area including services, amenities, costs, and availabilities.
We know that every situation is different. We will ask you about your family’s unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences to help you find the right type of care for your loved one.
From the time you start considering care options to move-in day and beyond, we’re here for you. We will answer your questions, help you compare options, schedule tours, and help plan the logistics of a move.
A Place for Mom is the leading platform that guides families through every stage of the aging journey. We simplify the search for senior care by offering free, personalized support—and when families are ready, we refer them to partners from our network of over 15,000 senior living communities and home care agencies.
Our mission is to guide caregivers and their loved ones to a confident place, so families can focus on what matters most: their love for each other.
A Place for Mom: where love finds its place.
A Place for Mom is paid by our senior living network communities when a family we refer chooses to move into a community. We are paid by home care agencies each time we refer a family to them. Our services—including personalized guidance and support—are always free to families. Our advisors prioritize finding the best fit for families based on their unique needs.
Senior living communities and home care agencies set their rates independently and, under the terms of their contracts, cannot charge families referred by A Place for Mom more than those who don’t use a referral service.
We conduct reviews of our senior living network twice a year to verify that they maintain valid licenses, as required by state regulators.
Our advisors take time to understand a family’s unique situation—including care needs, preferred location, budget, and lifestyle. Based on these insights, families receive a list of senior living options tailored to their needs. Our matching process is designed to support both caregivers and their aging loved ones. In fact, based on our September 2025 Family Survey, we have a world-class Net Promoter Score of 72 among those who moved their loved one to one of our referred communities.
Absolutely not. We believe trust is earned, and we are here as a resource whenever families need us. Families remain in full control of their decisions—there is no obligation to use our service or to select one of the communities we refer.
When you fill out a form or call us directly, you’re authorizing A Place for Mom to contact you by phone, text, or email to support your senior living search. We’re committed to making this process clear and easy to understand. You can opt out of communications or choose to stop working with us at any time, and we’ll honor your request promptly. Your privacy is important to us— we never sell your information without your consent.
Our annual Best of Senior Living awards recognize top-rated communities based on feedback from residents and their families. To be eligible, communities must receive at least 10 reviews on our website, maintain an average score of 9.5 or higher, and offer senior living services such as assisted living, independent living, or memory care in the U.S. or Canada.
The trust of families and caregivers is critical to us. In order to be eligible for our Best of Senior Living awards, communities need to have remained in good standing with state licenses for 12 months preceding the award period. Communities are ineligible for Best of Senior Living awards if they’ve had substantiated abuse, neglect or citations with citations involving fines or other disciplinary actions as issued by state regulatory bodies, citations where there is evidence of a resident experiencing severe bodily harm due to unreasonable deviation from procedures designed to safeguard and promote a resident’s well-being.
We recognize that access to senior care can vary widely depending on location. Our advisor-led model is particularly valuable in rural areas, where online reviews may be limited and families may not be aware of available options.
We recognize that care needs can change, and sometimes a community that seemed like the right fit may not always be the best long-term solution. Our mission is to empower families throughout their entire aging care journey. If a family’s needs change, they’re free to explore other options, including home care, with continued guidance from our advisors.
We offer the largest network of participating communities and home care providers in the U.S.
