I would give them a 5 on everything. My mother is doing so much better there and the staff is wonderful. From my perspective, the thing that I find most reassuring is my mom is clean and safe and gets to interact with people. And the food is good!

My dad spent the last 3 ½ years at the Blake. I can’t say enough about the wonderful care and attention he received while living at the Blake. He always felt safe and comfortable in this facility. His favorite spot was the beautiful courtyard and most days that’s where he always wanted to be. He enjoyed the food and never raised any complaints about his care. Dad lived to almost 100. and we are thrilled that the last years of his life he was happy, fulfilled and safe at the Blake. I highly recommend the Blake. It was always clean, the staff gave quality attention to the residents. The Blake was like an extended family for him, and I am so he glad we found The Blake.

I have recommended to others. We picked this community because of the cost and proximity.

Everyone who interacted with myself and my father-in-law were very polite and caring. Always kept us informed of any situation. Facility is very clean and the Memory Care unit is very secure. No worries about wandering away from facility. Studio apartment with bathroom was a good size for my father-in-law. Only downside was they don't go to full assist level of care. Would love for my father-in-law to still be there, yet sadly he needs full assist care now. If your family member uses a motorized wheelchair and they are going to Memory Care Unit, don't send motorized wheelchair.

The Blake was awesome. The staff are great and the facility took great care of my father in law. We needed a spot quickly for my father in law. The director/ sales team at the Blake helped us get everything taken care of quickly. Turned out my father in law needed memory care and they stepped up to take care of his needs. The activity director for memory care was a great help to keep him busy. They have a great team and care for their residence.

Everything is good at The Blake. I'm one not to comment with words, this place was the best choice for my mother and I rate this place the highest you can rate compared to the other places I reviewed.

The biggest issue was that they inappropriately accepted our loved one based on his level of capabilities. However, we would In a heartbeat recommend The Blake to other families if it's a fit!

My mom was in the hospital when I needed to make the decision to place her in an ALF instead of bringing her home. I had reached out to 3 facilities a week or so before, knowing the time was coming, but knowing it would come so fast. The staff[names removed] in particular, bent over backwards to get mom placed in their facility and to work through the logistics with me. They put mom in a furnished, temporary room that they normally use for respite care while I had things moved in and set up. They were there for me with answers to every question: medical, financial, emotional, etc. I will forever be indebted to them as this was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. The staff seems to genuinely care about mom and care for her. I do think there are times that among the staff, which can be frustrating. The small, minor hiccups have been nothing compared with knowing my mom is in a quality facility that is clean, medically safe, with caring, diligent people and is close by for visits. 100% would recommend.

When choosing an "apartment" make note of the distance to dining room if you have difficulty walking. Only issue was the space in the bedroom with two walkers and having them handy for bathroom trips. Also a few more electrical outlets spaced in different places would be useful. My parents needed more activities aimed towards their age group. I appreciate so much the help of A Place For Mom in finding The Blake. It was a stressful situation and you made me aware of places that I didn't even know existed. They lived there seven and a half months and were happy with their surroundings which was comforting to me. My mother especially liked all the windows--a wall of them in each room which allowed natural light in and also a view of their surroundings outside.

My mom is very comfortable there. My only concern is the frequent staff turnover. It's new & very clean. We're very satisfied.

We are extremely pleased with the care that my mother is receiving. I highly recommend The Blake for many reasons: a beautiful facility, wonderful meals, and many fun activities for the residents.

The staff are always friendly and are very good with the residents. The catering coordinator keeps them busy and plays games to keep their minds active.

Really like the staff so far and although change is hard for older folks, I think they are working to make certain Mom is happy.

I would highly recommend The Blake at Hamlin to others. They have a great Memory Care unit. The staff are extremely compassionate. The care is amazing. Cannot find a better place for compassionate care.

My loved one is currently a resident at The Blake at Viera. I would recommend this facility to others. I like that it is a newer facility. And the staff has been great. I think there could be a few more staff in the Memory Care, especially to help make it a point to better try and connect the residents with their loved ones once a week. I had hoped that my loved one would be more active and out of his room for more than just meals. It is kind of a hit and miss on keeping the residents engaged during the day. The move in process was easy and the staff was very helpful with suggestions. My loved one is up and down on the food, but you never know with him.

We toured The Blake at New Braunfels during our search for a Memory Care facility for my loved one. This facility was really nice. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. This facility was our second choice, but it was too far from home.

We saw the Blake's independent living accommodations! Wow. Our little American Gothic cottage at The Blake seemed sparkling with fairy dust when we first saw it: perfect, precious, a sunny corner unit with beautifully manicured lawn and charming floral accents, and a front porch that quickly became our favorite room in the house. My husband knew instantly that we were home. Six weeks later, we moved in. There was an authentic warmth from our first visit at The Blake that stuck out over other places we were looking into.

It is just a great fit for us. The residents encourage newcomers to become involved and socialization was something very important to us. I believe this facility is concerned and caring and determined to get things right! We are fans!
