As far as the move in, plan on bringing your own help. The will provide a luggage cart if you ask. They even let us move in during the evening when we had family available to help. The facility was always clean, and all staff were friendly and helpful. The Charge LPN called immediately if they suspected that your loved one needed an emergency visit. That way we could go and assess for the need. Meds were passed on time. There is an assortment of crafts and activities to take part in at any time during the day. Live music was amazing and occurred several times per week. Staff would even dance with ambulatory residents, or sit next to people and smile and encourage them to join in with clapping or singing. Christmas decorations were made by the residents; paper looped garlands, to paste, coloring pages that residents would color and add glitter. My loved one was with it enough that he helped with taping decorations on the walls. Everyone could participate or at least watch the various Christmas trees being decorated! Families were always welcome to join in at any time. There was a beautiful Christmas Dinner put on one evening, and families were seated at round tables with their lived ones. Live music again. There is a feel of family with the staff, at least on the closed dementia unit, where my loved one was. They baked a huge party sheet cake and celebrated each person's Birthday with cake and ice cream. My loved one was mobile enough that they would take him on the bus for breakfasts and lunches with the mainstream residents, even though he was on the memory care unit. There is nothing at all negative to bring up about Seabury Woods Memory Care unit. It is a treasure.

Everyone is wonderful--always so friendly, efficient, and helpful in every way. ?? 1 bedroom has large living room, bedroom is good size with large closet, bathroom is large with walk in shower, 2 addl. smaller closets. Kitchen is quite small. Very expensive for me even without other amenities (food plan, cleaning service, etc.) My rent is $[removed]

Staff are friendly and know residents by name. Facility is bright and open. It has been less than a month, but as of now I would recommend Pinehurst to other families looking.

My mom is currently a resident at Seabury Woods and overall her experience at this facility has been great so far. Most of the staff is great, some are a little standoffish but are getting better with time. The food looks great. The move in process was good and easy. Communication with the family was not good in the beginning, but we got it all straightened out, that's why it's a 5 star rating for me.

It's accommodating and friendly. We picked this community because of the location, cost, setting, and small-homey feel.

It's not-for-profit, which is why we picked this community. I would say that River Edge Manor is a beautifully maintained facility staffed by warm and helpful people.

I think the food is great, but they use a lot of gravies and sauces which my mother is not too fond of. They always have substitutions that are great. Seating policy in the dining room is a bit restrictive. A person must get "permission" to sit somewhere other than their assigned seat. Finally, activities are not as plentiful as I'd hoped, but others are not signing up and they have to cancel things through "lack of attendance" which is unfortunate. Overall a fantastic place for my mother. Workers are exceptionally personal and caring and concerned for all of the residents! We would absolutely recommend Pinehurst Senior Living to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Their entire staff is top notch, starting with their Director, [name removed], right down to their front desk staff, kitchen workers, dining room wait staff, cleaning staff and their Maintenance man, [name removed]. I've had the pleasure of speaking with and getting to know all of them. My Mom is extremely happy, too.

They are super sweet. It's always clean, and in order. The staff is always nice, and friendly. The care services are great, and the nurses always check on my loved ones often. They are very attentive, and willing to provide any information that you may need. They have a variety of different food options. My loved ones seem to like the activities. The value for the money is good.

The food is good but too rich and spicy. My loved one is treated like family. The staff seem to truly care about the residents. Overall, I am very pleased.

I would highly recommend Pinehurst Senior Living to anyone who can get their parents into this community. They are very caring and very friendly. My mom used the words, "I'm very comfortable and calm here". Some of their activities include walking, outings to stores and restaurants, card games, and bingo. They have a lot of activities, but my mom hasn't really tried them yet. Some of the residents like the activities and some don't. So I think it's just a matter of how to incorporate activities with new residents. Housekeeping comes by her apartment every other week, and the community offers transportation to local doctor appointments. During visitation, I do have to wear a mask and they follow Covid screening protocols by taking my temperature and asking if I have any symptoms. I really wish I could live here, I told my mom I would be right next door to her if I could. It's such a wonderful environment.

I would recommend this community for your loved one. It is worth the money and they let them still have their independence which was something that my loved one needed. She is well adjusted now and she is happy here.

Excellent independent living in an 8 story senior residence apartment building with choice of different numbers of bedrooms and views, centrally located on Rochester's elegant East Avenue. Truly independent residents or those who are able to arrange extra help via aides have found a terrific place to live at Valley Manor. Rent includes many services and one meal a day (evening dinner). The dining room offers a very large selection and many special diets have dedicated menus (such as gluten-free). The dining staff is knowledgable and eager to help. Services include housekeeping, maintenance, driving the residents to doctor or dentist appointments, driving to nearby grocery shopping twice per week, outings and in-house activities including many involving local musicians, lecturers, movies, holiday-oriented parties, an extensive library, art gallery, postal and banking services, deli/minimart, exercise room and pool! The staff is uniformly excellent and friendly. 24 hour security and response to residents' alert buttons is here and the front desk is manned with at least 2 people. During the day they go outside the main entry to assist residents in and out of vehicles and are uniformly attentive. The community does not offer nursing care and if there is a problem needing attention, EMTs are called. If a higher level of care is needed, they are associated with an assisted living residence right next door. The reason our mother left was that she began to need an increased level of care and supervision. Valley Manor is a wonderful place, with wonderful staff and wonderful food!
Communication is not great. You have to be on top of them. Some of their rules are different from other places. Several of the day staff is an A+ Activities are good with one of the ladies, a lot for mom to do.
