I toured a private room at this beautiful home. The home looked clean and smelled clean. The caregivers were friendly. There was not much activity going on with the residents. It was peaceful and quiet. The ladies were at the dining room table waiting for their lunch.

my loved one went from being super active to needing an advanced level of care. we tried a few different communities, but none of them gave him close attentiveness. he laid in bed for months, he lost a lot of weight, and his care was completely ignored. moving him to Fairview was a breath of fresh air. they make sure to get him out of the bed and they make it a priority to feed him 3 times a day. my loved one sometimes says "no" to being lifted out of bed, but we have encouraged the community to push him a little more on those days. although his appetite has seemed to increase he doesn't seem to be retaining any of the weight; so maybe they should give bigger portions or seconds. aside from that, his color is way better and he is certainly way better here than where he was before. the staff love him, they care for him deeply. I can't even describe how much better he is, it is unbelievable. it's really nice that he's in a professional community who communicates with him. keep in mind that this is a board in care and not an assisted living community. my loved one no longer needs activities, entertainment or field trips. here at Fairview, he is receiving exactly what he needs. if your loved one is in that same state of their lives, I would definitely recommend this community to you.

We visited this location when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought this was a nice looking place overall, I liked the feel of it. The facility was well kept and clean, and the people seemed friendly. However I don't think it would have been the best fit for Mom. She is in a wheelchair, and while everything here is completely wheelchair accessible with ramps she would not have been able to get to and from some rooms without help up and down the ramps.

[name removed] was great. The mal care provider didn't talk much. The care provided by [name removed] was amazing. She pays great attention to detail and kept my father clean and dry. His room was kept clean as well. No pleasant odors. With the meals - they did not follow our father's diabetic plan per his doctor's instruction. He enjoyed the food, but he was consuming too many carbs and sweets. His glucose was high while in the home. With activities there weren't ANY activities as represented at the time of contract Gathering the residents together was limited to meal times only. Residents were to stay in their rooms and were discouraged from walking freely around the house. It was confining for my father. He said he felt alone. He called daily requesting I pick him up from the facility. I obliged because I observed the residents isolation. Value for cost - the home is clean, the care provided is amazing. The issue I had was the lack of activity and confinement of residents to their rooms. In addition, the home advertised 24/7 AWAKE staff, however, after a week I was asked to pay more money approx [fee removed] more for the home to hire another care provided to be awake with my father at night as he got up frequently to urinate. I found this to be false advertising and inappropriate for the home to ask me to pay more money for service the home claim to provide at the contracted rate. It seems the home didn't schedule care providers in a way to provide the awake night care as advertised as all care provides were awake and working during the day. If a person has a loved one that is bed ridden and doesn't have a need to interact with other residents, this home is appropriate. Otherwise, it would be advise to look elsewhere as your loved one will be alone with little to no physical/mental activity outside of the television. I wish the facility fostered more of a family environment bringing the residents together daily for activities, light exercising, games, etc. in addition to scheduling their staff to have different day/night staff as to honor their 24/7 awake staff claim. These two changes would make this location awesome as they do an amazing job with care and cleanliness/sanitation.

I actually went to the Fairview home which is run by Pat Harland also I thought the room was absolutely beautiful and the house was well-maintained him it was clean it would be a nice quiet place for your parent although the negative feedback I got was that they do not feed their patients enough and secondly there was not much interaction between the caretakers and the patients but the care was excellent.

Pacifica has the potential to be great. Sadly, they are short staffed. Often 1 staff member to watch 15 residents. Often residents are left alone. I've witnessed many falls that were 100% preventable provided adequate staffing. Activities are sporadic and not as scheduled. Residents have dementia and aren't aware when activities are scheduled. Someone should be corralling the residents, but they don't. The facility smells badly. There is hardly any tissue, soap or paper towels in the restrooms. The commode is dirty with feces and urine on the floor. Maintenance does not keep common areas clean and the floor is dirty. Residents are not bathed according to schedule. Many residents are soiled sitting in their feces/urine. Several have sores on their bottoms. Several residents have fallen and died as a result of injury that were preventable provided adequate staffing and care in each cottage. Dietetic diets are not honored. Medication mix ups happen often. Residents are not kept safe. Pacifica needs adequate staffing, training and accountability. Night staff sleeps on the job leaving residents unchecked. Falls happen that result in infection, broken bones and death. I speak from experience. My father's bed alarm was turned off repeatedly by staff. He fell and was found in his feces on the floor. Night staff has no documented rounds. He ended up with a deep wound on his bottom. I'm glad I moved him. Pacifica is an unsafe, unclean environment at an inflated price. It needs to be shut down until the necessary changes are made to ensure resident safety. Please do not place any more residents there. It's not safe.
