Good caregivers. Terrible accounting
For the most part the caregivers for my mom were experienced and caring. The scheduling was somewhat inconsistent, but understandable given the current state of the world. The accounting department was HORRIBLE! The invoices never show my payments made, but only the charges. They don’t accept online payments, and the invoices are a minimum of two weeks old. When my mom passed away, I had a credit that it has taken over 6 weeks to get, (still have not received it! )with numerous phone calls and snotty bookkeepers.

Additional care option
The thing that has been challenging with AccentCare of San Diego is consistency. It would be nice to have 1 caregiver that comes each time. I would reluctantly recommend them.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Home Care. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Know the California regulations for Home Care: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about California regulations for Home Care.
