New home for dad
The assisted living facility where dad had been living for 2 years 1/2 years was no longer able to provide the care dad needs. He was in the hospital and we had an immediate need of a place to move him. Home for Mom provided me with the names of several facilities that we should consider. We were able to secure an apartment at Arcadia for dad that is almost identical to his room and activities at the previous facility. Arcadia also provided us with a temporary room to use during the transition from the hospital to the new apartment. The staff was very welcoming and we are impressed with the attention and care they provide dad.

I would say that it was a lovely place for mom to live but that they are woefully unprepared to deal with anyone with dementia who is uncooperative, in denial, and occasionally loud.

We appreciate your comments. Unfortunately we are not a memory care community. We do try and keep our residents as successful for as long as we possibly can here at Arcadia. Some of our residents do have mild memory loss but they are not exit seeking and do not infringe on the privacy or safety of our other residents. It's a safety issue for the resident with dementia and our other residents. Sometimes when residents develop behaviors, continue to be uncooperative, and lash out or scream out then we do have to consider if they are still a good fit here. Arcadia is home to 68+ residents and they all have a right to a nice, peaceful, safe environment. I'm sorry if you experience with Arcadia was not positive. We strive to give the best care to our residents and to keep them happy.

They really care
My mother has lived at Arcadia for over three years now and more recently my dad and his wife moved into an apartment there as well. We have overall been very happy with the care because everyone is kind and helpful and patient with issues of dementia and other things that required help. At one point a couple of years ago a few things slipped between the cracks, but the leadership sat down with us and listened to our concerns and worked to ameliorate the problems. The first thing they expressed to us how much they, and everyone else, loved my mom. This true care and actually love means more than anything else.

Very Poor Service
Service is slow/requests ignored. Tried to schedule meds with little or no success. These are prescribed meds I need for cough, breathing, help to get sleep. At this point in time I've been waiting more than an hour for meds.

Would recommend some needed improvements
Overall the staff are very friendly and my Dad's room is nice and kept clean. The main ongoing issues are with medication management and laundry service. My dad does not get his meds at the same time 'morning, noon or night', which is very confusing for him. Sometimes 2 hours late. We've met with the med tech manager several times now and we're told they are sorry, but they have a high turn-over rate, and it's hard to get everyone trained. For the $$ being paid, they should have this down! Also, the laundry is not done per their schedule and even though my dad is told they fold it up for him, it continues to be dumped on his bed and he has to do it. They also have not been changing his bed weekly. Instead, they leave the sheets folded for him to put on. These are all things that the basic rate includes. So definitely needs improvement

Great Care. Great Staff.
We've been extremely pleased with Arcadia Senior Living, especially with the care. It has been a step up from the previous place my loved one lived, and really addresses all of her needs. The staff is super friendly. All of her medical needs are taken care of without us needing to oversee the process. It's expensive, but we are definitely seeing improvement in her.

Best place for long term assisted living
The care staff is impressive, it is run at a memory care ratio with 3-5 caregivers 24/7, 3 licensed nurses, and 3 person admissions team ! Chef is amazing & apartments look like retirement living vs clinical.

They Need to Get Their Act Together
I would suggest you keep shopping around. The community is having staffing issues especially with understaffing. The administrator is shotty. I have to ask for an invoice each month and then make sure the correct prices are detailed out.

Not as beautiful as it looks.
This place is beautiful. Most everything is new. The food is great. If you are able to walk and handle your own issues you are probably fine. But if you need more care. Not the best place to be. Staff are not happy and they pass it on to the residents. Too often person left alone for hours in wheelchair. Some on night shift are not caring at all and treat person badly. Leaving person soiled instead of helping to commode. Rough handling when they have to help move the person. Don't care if they are hurting and uncomfortable. Treat person like they are inconvenient. Medications given irregularly. Some caregivers refuse to help reposition person when person is paralyzed and uncomfortable. I wish I knew these things before we started here. There are people who work here that do really care. The ones that don't make life miserable for residents. Communicating this to management does not seem to be effective.

I can't say enough good things about them.
I moved my parents in to Arcadia in December. I was a little concerned since the facility was brand new, so there wasn't really any reviews or past history to look at. I did look up the owners and they had a good track record.
Arcadia has turned out to be wonderful. Clean, modern, new and the staff is really caring. Food is good and a good variety.
Since the occupancy is still pretty low, staff is currently filling many roles and they don't seem to mind. I'm impressed with management's ability to keep staff and residents happy when they are in the "filling" process.
A great place, I'm excited to see what an amazing place it will be once they have more occupants and can do everything they want to do.
