Review of Ashley Gardens of Mount Vernon

Ashley Gardens is a wonderful place. Every time I've been there it was clean, everyone was quiet and happy. The staff have been very helpful and supportive. We had moved my person from Florida to Washington state from a nursing home to this beautiful memory care center and were very concerned about him adjusting to it. But the staff have been wonderful. The room is a little small for double occupancy but workable. I can't comment on the food. The Administrator, [name removed], was a godsend through the whole process. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

Staff were professional and friendly. The Community Relations staff was very knowledgeable and understanding. The community is small, homey and elegant. Residents have small rooms and share bathrooms. Not a lot of activities or going out for experiences.

The staff is wonderful! But there aren't enough to go around. I visit my wife daily and I see half of the table needs help and there's usually only one person feeding 6 people. I love the staff that I've met and they really need help.

Experience with Ashley Gardens of Mount Vernon

Ashley Gardens has truly been a godsend for our family. The community is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and most importantly, Mom is very well cared for. Her room is always clean and comfortable, the food is well prepared, and snacks are available anytime for residents or visitors. I also really appreciate that they welcome friends and family to share meals with their loved ones. We’ve been very happy with the care and environment there.

Smooth transition

The whole process was made easy and quick. Staff really understood the families emotions and were very helpful and caring. The atmosphere was one of a caring family. Meals were served like family, so much better than the previous facility. Staff really understood the needs, limitations, and desires of their patients. We looked at all facilities and would choose Ashley Gardens again.

Great choice

I would give Ashley Gardens all 5's. My husband needs a lot of care and they really give it their all and anticipate his needs. I also think there are a lot of regulations especially regarding food that can limit what they can serve. Ashley Gardens has been a very good fit for us. Ashley Gardens is not perfect, which my ratings say they are, but they're the perfect fit for us. I admire all those that work in this industry. It's not easy...physically, mentally or emotionally.

Community needs improvement

We really like the staff however during our loved ones stay of only a few weeks, covid and staffing shortages there were some things happening - when we could call Ashley Gardens it was not the staff that would be answering the phone but it would be the residents themselves. They said this issue would be fixed but we felt it was very unprofessional. Our loved one got covid here, he also broke his hip after a fall and we just felt the medication management was mishandled. We do want to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume this does not happen regularly but that the struggles we faced were just caused by covid and staffing shortages.

my experience.

The community is just great. They have lots of activities and posted pictures on their Facebook page so we can see them enjoy the activities. They are starting to get folks out of the community and are doing driving trips around town. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.
