Our Nana is getting great care
My Nana is a resident at Avalon Memory Care, and our family is beyond thankful for the wonderful care she receives. As a granddaughter, it means so much to know that my Nana is treated with kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion every single day. The staff truly go above and beyond to make her feel safe, comfortable, and loved. They take the time to know her as a person, not just a resident, and that personal attention makes all the difference. Every visit reassures me that she is in the right place and surrounded by people who truly care. We are so grateful to Avalon Memory Care for the peace of mind they have given our family and for the heartfelt care they provide to my Nana. I would highly recommend Avalon to any family looking for exceptional memory care for someone they love

Avalon was such a help to me during a really hard time
Placing my wife of 57 years into memory care was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but choosing Avalon Memory Care brought me comfort and peace during an incredibly emotional time. From the very beginning, the Admissions Nurse, Michelle, made everything so much easier. Her compassion, patience, and knowledge guided me through every step of the process. She took the time to answer my questions, explain what to expect, and made sure my wife’s transition was handled with dignity and care. I never felt rushed or alone in the process. The staff at Avalon treats my wife with genuine kindness and respect, and that means everything to me after 52 years of marriage. Knowing she is safe, well cared for, and surrounded by people who truly care has given me peace of mind I didn’t think was possible. I am deeply grateful to Michelle and the entire Avalon Memory Care team and would wholeheartedly recommend them to any family facing this difficult decision.

Avalon cared for both Mom and Dad
Our family will always be deeply grateful to Avalon Memory Care for the compassion, flexibility, and humanity they showed us during the hardest chapter of our lives. My mom was diagnosed with a non-operable glioblastoma of the brain, and my dad was living with Alzheimer’s disease. Keeping them together was incredibly important to our family—and to them—and Avalon made that possible. Avalon was able to provide the specialized care each of my parents needed while allowing them to remain together until my mom passed. That gift is something we can never repay. Knowing they were safe, comfortable, and surrounded by kindness brought us peace in the midst of unimaginable grief. We are especially thankful for the Admissions Nurse, [name removed], who helped us navigate everything with patience, clarity, and genuine compassion. She guided us through complex decisions, answered every question, and supported our family in a way that went far beyond her role. Her kindness and expertise made an ove

Wonderful care of my wife
Placing my wife of 52 years into memory care was the hardest decision of my life, but choosing Avalon Memory Care has brought me comfort and peace during an incredibly emotional journey. From the very beginning, the staff have shown extraordinary compassion, not only toward my wife, but toward me as well. I visit my wife every single day, and each time I walk through the doors, I am welcomed like family. The staff truly know us, care about our story, and treat my wife with dignity, patience, and genuine kindness. Seeing the consistency of care and the respect they show her reassures me that she is exactly where she needs to be. The love, warmth, and support extended to both of us mean more than I can put into words. Avalon Memory Care is more than a place of care—it is a community that honors long marriages, deep bonds, and the people behind the diagnoses. I am deeply grateful for this team and wholeheartedly recommend Avalon to any family facing a similar decision.

Wonderful Care for my bride
Making the decision to place my wife in memory care was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but from the very beginning, the staff showed us nothing but compassion, patience, and respect. They took the time to truly know my wife—her routines, her preferences, and the little things that bring her comfort—and they care for her with genuine kindness every day. The team has been incredibly supportive not only to my wife, but to me as well. They communicate clearly, welcome my involvement, and always make me feel like a valued partner in her care. Knowing she is safe, treated with dignity, and surrounded by people who truly care has given me peace of mind during an otherwise heartbreaking journey. I am deeply grateful for this memory care community and would highly recommend it to any family facing a similar decision.

Perfect place for memory care patients. So many places have several levels of care and memory care gets little
I wished we would have found Avalon 2 years earlier. I think is the perfect place for memory care patients. It is single story and open interior with homelike style. All patients are memory care, they have full access to walk around and visit. The staff are wonderful, continually go around and visit with everybody. The patients also visit with you when visiting. They provide entertainment which was reserved for assisted living in other places we've been. Plus the cost is less than any of the assisted living places. Their level of skill in handling a diverse population of residents. They also made sure patients saw the podiatrist, nurse practitioner, dentist etc

Avalon really helped us in such a difficult time
My sister was diagnosed with early-onset Dementia in her late 50's. It was such a blow to our family. Things became difficult at home very quickly and she just was not safe and my brother-in-law was so overwhelmed. The lady that helped up and walked us through the admission was very knowledgeable and made the transition so much easier than what we anticipated. We love the staff and anytime we have a question or concern, they are quick to respond.

Our families experience
They had a wonderful care giver that used to mom the floor all the time. My boys won't touch anything if it touches the floor now. They can't wait to use hand sanitizer once we leave. They have had a HUGE staff turnover. Only 1 person there that was there when mom moved in. My mom seems happy, but can't tell me what happens. She is clean for the most part. I have to ask for them to wash her hands. They are usually dirty when we arrive. It is the same crap. You can predict what they will be having for lunch. Residents aren't excited about most of the meals. I've never seen them do any activities. They have painted Mom's nails once. Mom doesn't sit still, so that could be the issue. I think they watch tv 90% of the time. Cost is cheaper, so you get what you pay for. They have had quite a few resident move out in the last few months. We are currently looking at a new place for my mom.

Excited to recommend Avalon Memory Care
Our family was very pleased with the level of my brother’s care at Avalon Memory Care. They recognized right away they were going to need assistance in nursing care and were able to help him qualify for Hospice Care at the facility. They always listened to our concerns about his care. The staff at Avalon Memory Care are very caring and always treated my brother with respect. I visited my brother every day and was received with opening arms. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for 24/7 care of a loved one with dementia.

I moved my husband into another memory care in the area. They assured me that they could handle my husband's behaviors and care. He has advanced Parkinson and Lewy Body Dementia. Avalon Memory Care - Irving offers Studio and Semi-Private. Learn more.
A Place for Mom has scored Avalon Memory Care - Irving 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
