Overall a nice place
He was able to afford a place at Baldwin House but not other facilities we looked at. Staff seem friendly. My uncle doesn't interact much with staff as he doesn't eat his meals with the residents. He also plays euchre but they do not play it there. I would recommend Baldwin House to others looking.

Very friendly staff.
Not enough washing machines/dryers for the building and limited time to use them.
They need more activities such as art, lectures, silly games etc.
They need a larger budget for the food. It would be nice if they had small menu style meals - home cooked and larger portions.

Highly Recommended
Everyone is friendly. In our case, housekeeping is done monthly, cannot honestly comment on that. Communication with family is very good.
Move in was flawless. Improvements, well not directly related to the home, but the help/medical staff. Have a pendant and was used in the first few days, and what I heard was that they showed no compassion. Not something the family wants to hear, we chose this community because of their care level, yet (again not the home's responsibility since it is an outside company providing the assistance). I would highly recommend this complex, with a cautionary note for the outside company providing the care. Time will tell if we will be regretting the move.

Experience at Baldwin House
The staff at Baldwin House Lakeside Senior Living are very helpful and friendly. [Name removed], at the front desk, is always available during the day Monday through Friday. The housekeeping is good. My loved one has been very disappointed in the meals. For example, by the time he gets his eggs at breakfast, they are almost always cold. Also, I understand that bacon and eggs are not an option to get together. He told me one day he can get eggs and toast and another day bacon and toast. I believe there is only one person in the kitchen. It makes it terribly hard for that person to keep up with the demand of the residents for food service. Also, my loved one does not like a lot of the meals. Therefore, starting this month, we opted out of the full meal service and I will be taking him shopping every Friday to get foods for the week. The other disappointment was the activities. The activities sign states that there is Euchre several times a week. That is my loved one's favorite card game. He was looking forward to meeting other people and playing Euchre. However, there is no Euchre at all there. They do play Bingo, but he is not interested in Bingo. Overall, I believe that my loved one quite happy there. The room and the area is very nice. At this time, he goes to the Clinton Township Senior Center to play cards.

We would definitely recommend
Activities have been scaled back for Covid reasons but overall they are trying to keep the residents entertained.
There has been a recent turnover of administration which concerns me. We have yet to meet the new administrator.
The medical team provides quality care in general. They are struggling with decreased staffing and any scheduling snafus are understandable. My Mom is very happy there

It is a good community for your elderly parents
Our families experience has been great so far, the community is clean and the friendliness of the staff is excellent. The activities are limited but they are starting to do more and more and each day. Value for cost is very very good.

Highly recommend
We chose Lakeside because of the location, the price, and amenities that were offered such as the medical team within the building. The apartment sizes here are really nice. Some meals are delivered to the rooms so by the time they get to the room they are cold but that is not their fault. I think they could have a better variety on the menu to choose from. She does rave about the soups and salads. Once the dining room is opened all the way up i don't think we will have any issues. The admission process is made very easy, they help you with everything and think out of the box and go above and beyond.

We chose American House Lakeside Senior Living because it was close to my house and it was also very clean. They were also income based, so they were able it help us out on price. The rooms were very nice for one person, they were like little apartments. I would recommend the community to others looking.

So far it’s seams like a very wonderful place for my Mom The only reason I’m giving the activity a low score is because the state or who ever is in charge of running this facility will not let these elderly people participate in social events. Coronavirus hazard
Very upset that staff are not wearing masks as recommended by CDC. Staff are entering the most at risk population three or four times daily. When I asked a staff member about this I was informed they are doing the best they can. Nonsense! Keep our family members alive and healthy! Wear a damn mask.

Bad food

Staff very friendly and facilities were very clean and modern very bright and cheerful. Floor plan is well laid out so resident does not have to walk far to reach any of the facilities services.

American House is FABULOUS
American House Lakeside is an amazing facility. FABULOUS Office Staff, Kitchen Staff, Housekeeping and The Medical Team. Mom used the Med Team quite often and they were always there to help my mom whenever she needed it. Sadly, Mom passed away recently and we will of course miss Her dearly, but I will miss the Fabulous Staff as well.

Might not be the best fit.
This is all so brand new to us, finding a place that is a good fit for our loved one. We were not aware that the medical team here is separate from the community and the services required are charged a la carte. The staff is friendly and caring but this community is more residents who are active and need little care. There are activities provided for the residents to participate in. The environment is warm and inviting. The dining room is very nice and the meals that they serve are okay. At this point of my mom's life, she does not eat a lot. We think at this time she needs a lot more care than this community can provide.

Staff for care
I toured this community for my father's care. I was not very pleased with the person in charge of the tour. I felt like she did not want to help me with the questions that I had on the care that was offered here. I liked the cleanliness of the community. The menu was nice. We feel like there is staff that could be helpful to my needs for care. Families might find this community to be what they are looking for.
