Deceptive Advertising
We would have to say the meals were not very good. Small portions and the food was not as advertised. It was more like school cafeteria food. The coffee bar that was advertised was non existent. Never any coffee, creamer, sugar or cups. It was a very depressing place.

Pleasant Experience
This is a good community. It is safe and the staff are very helpful. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and there are choices for the residents to choose from. Lunch is the bigger.
There are communal washer and dryers on each floor of the building. The resident is able to have a microwave in their apartment. Housekeeping once a week is included as well.

My Mom
My mother was given the diagnosis of dementia/Alzheimer four years ago. After spending a year with me, I knew she needed more help than I could give her. We went on a tour at Bloom at BELFAIR and found it as a very good fit for her. At first she was on the independent living and she really enjoyed it. Eventually her disease caught up to her, but they at Bloom made it a very easy transition over to the Memory Care side, where she still resides. She says she loves it there and that is all I can ask.

Energetic community and staff
We went with Bloom at Belfair because the community just felt more vibrant and had a very positive energy and enthusiasm both among the staff and the residents. Also the memory care unit we felt was the best out of the ones that we saw. Although that care is not needed right now, we like that we have that option in case it is needed in the future. We would definitely recommend the facility to others looking.

We've had a very good experience overall. The staff answer all the questions you have. They have really good activities. Really the main concern is response times are not as fast as we would like, but I suppose our expectations might have been unrealistic. But we're not getting follow-up until days after asking.

Room for improvement in family engagement, but overall a good place.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, especially if it's your first time going down this road. If I had a second go-around, I would have more specific follow-up questions after their general presentation. For example, do they have a la carte care services you can add on, manicure/pedicure, etc. The term "all-inclusive" includes only what they provide, not necessarily what you would like to see them provide. Middle management has been very cooperative, supportive and understanding, and very much in compliance. They're very receptive if you contact them with a concern. The caregivers, it depends. Some are exceptionally good, and some just do their job. But I recognize that it's a very difficult job to do, and I have tremendous empathy for them. I think the staff to resident ratio is unrealistic, even though theirs is better than the minimum required ratio. I haven't tasted the food, but it appears to be well presented, and I see no issue with portions or things of that nature. They have weekly off-campus bus trips where they go out to lunch or visit museums and a variety of places. I would like to see them do more of that, but they seem to keep the residents pretty well engaged. I just wish that some of the field trips weren't at an additional charge but instead were included in the monthly fee as part of the services. The value is good, but I would pay even more for them to do more.

The rating might be unfair as we really didn’t get to see the facility first hand . However a video tour was sent to us. We felt the facility was very Outdated, but from what we could see clean. Several interesting items like an ice cream pallor and a vintage Ny taxi cab were displayed inside the facility along with a fountain in the atrium entrance with an expansive staircase behind it ???
Maybe it’s us but stairs and older people usually don’t mix well. [Name removed] the community relations manager was lovely and very helpful.

Great job with Dorian’s evacuation
Kudos to Bloom of Belfair for a job well done! Our mother was a new resident for only 3 weeks before hurricane Dorian came knocking. We couldn’t be happier with how the whole evacuation process was handled. The situation was pretty stressful for my mom since she was in a new state, I lived local but was out of town and she has never experienced an evacuation. The staff really stepped up to help her get ready and put her at ease. They even called me to verify medications she should be taking with her. The communication from the staff and owners with emails and phone calls to keep the family up to date was outstanding! We knew our mom was in very good hands and well taken care of. The staff did an excellent job staying with the residents through the whole process. We are very pleased with our choice of Bloom at Belfair for our mothers new home.

After touring several facilities in our area, we decided on Bloom of Belfair. Originally because of its proximity to our home. But once my mother-in-law was settled in we realized how lucky we were to find such a wonderful caring place. From the lady at the front desk, who promised to call mom to remind her to come down for dinner, the maintenance man who hung her pictures, or the waitresses who always remember to not give her sauce on her pasta. Even the business manager was patient with me when I called her several times asking the same questions. My mother-in-law has made some friends and is happy. Glad we found belfair.

Attentive Staff and Caring Employees
After two years, my wife and I have found both the leadership and the care at Bloom to be terrific. The Bloom staff remain engaged with their residents and respond immediately to their needs.
