Good retirement home
The people here are wonderful, and the food options are convenient and helpful. The staff consistently go out of their way to assist residents and make the experience better. The apartments themselves are nice overall, though I would appreciate a bit more closet space. It would also be great to have a private yard.

I recently toured Brookdale Coeur d'alene looking for placement for my brother. I felt welcomed and was given an extensive tour and all my questions answered about care plans and made me feel at ease. I truly am very confident in this choice for a home for my brother!

Friendly atmosphere and residents. Everyone was very welcoming and cheerful. Staff especially seemed to love their job. Doing remodeling to upgrade apartments. Only concern is the washer dryer not in rooms. But we’re just starting our search

I have personally went through the tour twice, initially by myself then with my dad (the intended resident). I found all the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and went above and beyond the expectations I had anticipated. When dad or I had questions or concerns, all employees were able and not withholding of the answers. My dad and I are greatly satisfied and grateful for all the time and direction they have offered. Thank you to all the people who worked together for my family and myself.

Wonderful new home
The open area allow my dad to make friends and not seem so confined. It has a garden in the center which is very nice. Also the residents look out for each other and are very sweet. The staff calls me with concerns and knows our names.

We're very happy with the place/experience. The tour was very informative. Staff were helpful. No issues. My dad is a bit of a curmudgeon but even he seems to be doing well there. He's participating in activities and seemingly making friends. Rather surprising.

Things to know
At this point I would just suggest that the individual or family get everything in writing. I don't think they can be trusted. Also, we transferred my dad to their medical personnel and he was taken care of by a wonderful RN but he never saw a doctor - even after I took him to the hospital and he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He suffered with issues related to the meds and no doctor even stopped to check on him.

Review for Brookdale Coeur d'Alene
My mom is very happy there. The staff has all been really great. There was a period of high turnaround, especially in the kitchen, but I think they've got that all figured out now and the bus is very accommodating for my mom's physical therapy and doctors appointments and my mom really enjoys the church service that they offer. I would recommend it to other families who are looking for a good place for their parent or parents.

Wonderful Staff
The friendliness of the staff is a 5+ but the care services fluctuates. For the value for cost, I would say its the same as any assisted living, they have their ups and downs but they always do their best. Thanks [name removed].

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Idaho regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Idaho regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Coeur d'Alene 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies.
