Her doctor recommended we take her to the ER. While there she had a heart attack. She survived but was in a coma. We were told that she needed to be discharged to hospice care for her remaining few days ~ a week at the most. My sister and I looked at care homes, with the help of an A Place For Mom guide, and found Christina’s Assisted Living. It offered a private room in a beautiful home located in a well established neighborhood nearby. She has a view of the back yard including a pool and brilliant bougainvillea hedges. The room was furnished but we were welcomed to bring any personal furnishings we wanted. The amazing caregivers treat her like a member of the family. She soon went from bed bound lethargy to spending time in the family room interacting with the other residents.
