Professional care in a lovely home setting

My Dad resided at the Columbia Care Home in East Greenbush, New York for more than a year. The Director and her staff were professional, kind and genuinely attentive to the residents in their care. The genial home setting of this residence is far superior to the sterile institutional atmosphere that is often encountered in other types of senior care facilities. As my Dad's illness progressed, the attention and kindness of the staff kept pace with his increasing needs and disability. My family and I highly recommend Columbia Care Home for those seeking residential care for their elderly loved ones. My gratitude to the Director and her staff is beyond my ability to adequately express it. This residence is a wonderful option for those seeking full time elder care for their loved ones

My husband has been there for about a month and we are delighted with how well he has adapted, although, with his level of dementia, there is still some distance to go. The home is exactly what he needs - calm and peaceful environment with warm caring staff.

We toured that and it looked very nice, but it was $1000 a month more than the community we chose in Florida. It was very clean. However, my mom likes to get out and walk and it was on a road that she couldn't maneuver, and they didn't have a nice backyard for her to walk in. The gentleman that owned the place was very nice.

Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about New York’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.
