Very satisfied

Overall I'm very satisfied with the place and staff. The apartment is a nice size and everything is clean. I would absolutely recommend them to others who are searching for senior living for themselves or a loved one.

Blue Palms Village at Fletcher

Food was overcooked not much thought given to the menu we ate out more than 60% of the time. The apartment for three years was the right size and very nice the last year. I could've used a studio and I had a one bedroom a three room apartment, but it was too much for me alone. The activities for me consisted of the pool doing my exercises and the rehab department was right there at the concordia or blue Palm, but the price became separate and you use the rehab if you got any rehab exercise at all and that cost insurance money and upfront fees [price removed] per time wow At my age, I haven't got much time to keep my name solitary there ought to be activities that love people of our age spending time and small groups already talking about old times and making friends so going to the store that's fine an opportunity every day so that maybe once a week somebody will have enough energy to go to the store maybe even a smaller or more select store and putting a limit on the number of people get killed as small get-togethers because you only get to do it well most people have a chronic ailment of some sort and if they don't, they'll get it soon and there should be a regular opportunity, other entertainment, and believe me I always came up with a suggestion, but I think everybody's heart of hearing when they their people to entertain around, they don't I can't be the only person who suggested small group activities. They just expected them and they were the wrong people.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ON HERE!

We brought my mom here after looking at the reviews. The site is deceptive when looking at the rehabilitation center; you get redirected to the assisted living site, which looks amazing. Patients get ignored here. We have pressed the call button and waited anywhere from 30 minutes on up, and at times, they have never come. You have to constantly look for someone to help, and when you find someone, they treat you as an inconvenience. I have had to seek help for other patients who have their call lights on, halfway hanging off their beds or even on the floor. The 3pm-11pm & 11pm - 7am shifts are the worst; it seems like no one is even working there. This is no way to treat elderly patients in a facility who need the extra care. They often serve patients cold, inedible food and are not mindful of the meal schedule. We have asked about medical concerns with my mom care only to be ignored. We have already filled out several grievance forms and have not been contacted regarding resolution.

Change in Quality of Service

This facility is no longer run well and it is costly. There is no administrative responsiveness to family requests for communication. Many changes have been made and are not communicated. The facility is short staffed and not responsive to elderly care, even though the monthly bill is very costly. Residents are now waiting in line to receive food buffet style in Assisted Living in their wheelchairs. This is not appropriate. No response to requests for family meetings regarding residents. This is very different from the past owner [name removed].

We liked this community when we looked at it. They offer twenty four seven nursing care. The people we met were nice. This is a buy in community so these residents have priority over the residents that have not bought in. This is a high rise community. They are nice and accommodating. This community does have a long waiting list.

They give my loved ones such individual care. I think that the personnel is really spectacular; very caring and gentle. Maybe the food could use a little improvement. I think they are trying really hard to make my parents adjustment as seamless as possible.

Always consistent and timely

My parents reside at St Josephs John Knox Village the serving staff the nurses, and staff seem to have been there for quite some time which indicates their turnover rate is low. Michele Caruso goes above and beyond to assist my parents always in a timely mannner, she is consistent in her job and manages the people under her great. Always ensuring that my parents are well taken care of. Overall rating pleasant.

They are fantastic.

They are fantastic. I don't have any complaints, about food or activities, or anything. They were the best of all the places I checked out. They were much less in price than the others as well.

She loves it there.

They are really doing a good job. Nothing is perfect, and it's still pretty new to us, but they have professional management, good staff and a good facility. She loves it there. We are very happy with them.

Take your loved one elsewhere..PLEASE!

The facility provides poor quality health care in regards to the MED/Rehab center. My 83 yr old mom was admitted for rehab approx. 5+ weeks ago due to a stroke; right side affected. MOST of the CNA's assigned to my mom were extremely rude. The nurses included did not treat her with dignity or respect nor did they make her living environment comfortable. A particular CNA took away my mom's freedom of choice to make her own independent decisions by forcing her to use a bed pan instead of the brief because she did not want to clean her diaper. Another CNA forced my mom to sit up in her wheelchair for 5+ hours after complaining of horrible back pains. The CNA did not want to stop to use the hoyer lift which requires some time and effort in putting her back to bed. The CNA argued with me trying to debate the 5+ hour mark. When my mom was put back to bed her brief and pants were soiled with urine. A CNA along with another CNA were speaking harsh to my mom; they were not aware I could hear them from the bathroom in the room. I could go on & on about the CNA's and what they do when they think no one is watching. That is why my family and I came often and stayed long periods of time. Families have the right to inquire about the care/concerns and when I approach the nurses desk the staff would often ignore me and when they finally decide to acknowledge my presence their tone of voice is as if you are bothering them and you are unimportant. A nurse is one of those people. She will "roll" her eyes and speak loudly in a negative way but not addressing you directly. She along with another nurse act as if you are bothering them when approached. The overall behavior of the nursing staff is highly unprofessional and the skills of the CNA'S are questionable at best. There are three staff members who were great in regards to providing care to my mom. I wish the facility would employ more like them. Unfortunately there are more unprofessional, "ghetto" acting staff members than there are kind and professional ones. My mom was afraid to sleep in fear the staff would harm her. Since being admitted to John Knox Village she has acquired a bacteria resistant infection in her gut twice, a urinary tract infection, pneumonia and NOW she's on a ventilator fighting for her life. I definitely would NOT recommend sending your loved one to this facility for long term or short term treatment.
