Cordia Senior Residence
The hallways need updating. Apartment was nice but the microwave they placed was too big for the counter. The value for the money is great

Staff and aids who have been with the facility, performing with extreme care, for many many years. And it shows. They want to be there and they take impeccable care of my mother. Food is delicious. Facility is immaculate and lovely and there's a beautiful very large outdoor garden that residents can plant and socialize in. With a koi pond and beautiful flowers of all kinds.

My dad is not super social and is mentally sharp as a tack. Many of the folks there aren't so alert so that is difficult. But the staff has been great. They deliver Uber Eats to his door and spend time discussing favorite sushi spots, etc. He goes and exercises every day - he does wish there was more gym equipment. I think for him it's a great balance of having his own space and being able to just walk the hallways to see / be around people when he needs to be. He knows the routine - when coffee is made, when they put out pastries and when the fish ponds get cleaned (he likes the fish).

After looking at 6 places, we decided on Cordia. This place just felt right - good size (not too big) and everyone seemed happy (residents and staff) when we toured (3 times!) Our dad has now been there for 2 months - and we are thrilled with our decision! His apartment is great - they helped us get it looking just how he wanted it! The staff is wonderful and very caring- they go out of their way to make my dad and all of us feel at home. Our dad is smiling again, happy, and has made several friends already. He loves the workout room. He is busy and comfortable. My brothers and I enjoy visiting him (love eating in the pub!). We are very happy with Cordia and would highly recommend it. I encourage you all to go see Cordia for yourself!

Overall experience- it's been good. Staff is very friendly and as helpful as possible. Dad's a little bored, but that's pretty much of his own lack of engagement. I will note their men's events tend to be on lacking in frequency and level of engagement. Cleanliness of the facility - nice and clean. Friendliness - very friendly Quality of care - it's good, they seem to have gone through some rejiggering of care systems so that produced a gap in the care giving relative to PT and OT. Food - good enough. Activities - see above. Value for the money - commensurate with other providers in the area. They have been god about adjusting his level of care points when he is doing well. (He's had a couple of falls)

After visiting several place we decided on Cordia, and are thrilled with our decision for our parents. They are receiving GREAT care, feel happy, safe and secure. My dad can be a private guy, but still enjoys the live music, the good food and friendly staff and is looking forward to the weekly summer BBQ's (he loves food off a grill). My mom is social (again) and is loving the daily chair exercise (wish my dad was!), the brain games, the gardening, the happy hours, and all the outings - she loves being busy. We get a copy of the weekly activities to help remind my mom of all her options. We love visiting them and seeing them happy and so well cared for. I highly recommend you check out Cordia if you are looking for friendly and caring place for your parents. 5 stars!

I'm writing this review about CORDIA SENIOR RESIDENCE in Westmont, Il. If you are considering Cordia for a loved one, please run, don’t walk far away from this facility, if you truly love your family member. Please learn from our tragedy. My mom lived there from [date removed] 2023 until [date removed] 2024 when she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. If Cordia had done what they told us was part of their daily routine to check on their residence, our mom may still be with us. When we met with [name removed] (director of Community Relations/Marketing) she certainly is good at her job, she makes you feel like she’s your best friend and tells you anything you want to hear. The most important thing for my brothers and I was that our mom was in a safe and caring place. The activities, outings, etc were great but the one thing that was most important to us was her safety and well being. [name removed] told us that each resident had a “green light” in their apartment and if the resident didn’t t

Cordia is a great place! My father lived there and loved it. Our only regret is that he did not move there sooner. We transferred him to Cordia from another facility. For people seeking the VA’s Aid and Attendance pension benefit, Cordia is the perfect choice. Other facilities (even very expensive ones) do not license every bed as assisted living, and therefore residents at those facilities don’t qualify for Aid and Attendance if they are in independent living. (Be very careful if you are applying for Aid and Attendance since there is a lot of misinformation given out by other facilities). Cordia’s caregivers are Cordia employees, not from an outside agency. When we asked various employees how long they’ve been at Cordia, we were impressed by their length of employment. Unlike some facilities, Cordia does not separate residents who require more assistance from those who don’t. Assisted living residents remain in their same unit and still be part of the Cordia community.

The director was very nice, knowledgeable and not aggressive. She and their admission manager came to my moms house for the evaluation for care. Made her feel very comfortable. The tour experience was good. Saw the actual apartment she chose.

My mom has now lived at Cordia for a year. My mom was living with me but she was bored and I was exhausted. She was very resistant to moving, but she is now loving her new life, the staff takes great care of her and she has new friends and things to do she enjoys. She loves the live music (every week) and the exercise classes. We are thrilled with Cordia!

We chose Cordia Senior Residence because I liked the longevity of the staff. A lot of them had been there a long time. Many of the other places that I I went it seemed like they had a lot of staff turnover. I thought the room and space was also very nice and updated. My only criticism would be that on the weekends they do have some temporary staff, so sometimes things aren't as smooth as they are during the week - but this is something that happens wherever you go. I would recommend Cordia to other families.

The staff is very kind and they do a good job to make sure everyone is involved. They encourage everyone to participate in the activities so they can get to know the other residence. I would recommend this facility to others.

We chose Cordia Senior Residence because of the location and it was a month by month payment rather than a big buy in. It has been working out very well and we are very pleased. They have various room sizes to choose from, she is in a one bedroom and it is fantastic for her. The first 6 weeks she was here we ate here quite a bit and the food was great, but since COVID they are on a 5 week menu plan so it gets a little repetitive. But the great thing is they have a special for the day as well as other options if she doesn't like what is being served. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others.

This is a beautiful property. The units are on the small side, but well-maintained. My mom has a lovely view of the golf course that is adjacent to the property. The staff are competent, warm, and attentive. They seem truly invested in providing great support and establishing positive relationships with the residents. The residents are a very happy group, which I think says a lot about the quality of care they receive, and the overall living environment. The food is good, and nutritionally sound. There is no shortage of activities, and the activities staff is responsive to suggestions from the residents and their families.

I was contacted by [name removed] and she mailed me a brochure. They are too expensive and not closer to my son. She called back and I relayed my opinion.

Very nice facility. When my mother is ready, I'll schedule a tour with her.

Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
Know the Illinois regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Illinois regulations for Assisted Living.
