Just two miles north of the majestic Columbia River in Vancouver, our home is surrounded by tall pine trees on a street lined with even more towering evergreens. You could easily mistake the area for a forest with how amazingly wooded and fragrant it is! Vancouver, Washington offers woodland beauty with the amenities of a city. Our two-story, rustic, and adorable cabin-style home was built in 1972 but renovated to modern standards in 2006. From the updated furniture to the charming curb appeal, the care we’ve taken in maintaining our home can’t be missed. Our aim is for the clean, graceful minimalism of our interiors to always remind you of home. We’re licensed to care for 12 residents over age 70. Give us a call today, and find out if our home is right for you.</p> <h3>Living Options and Amenities</h3> <p>Our care home setting is intimate yet provides more than enough space for everyone here. We have studios and private rooms available, with six designated as memory care spaces. Ground-floor, wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. Bathroom options are shared and private, some with roll-in showers. Amenities include high-speed internet and Wi-Fi, cable TV, and climate-controlled heating and air conditioning. Resident pets are not allowed at this location.</p> <h3>Dining</h3> <p>What sets us apart from many other homes is our dedication to quality cuisine. Food is not just a commodity but an enriching, vital aspect of life. Our staff prepares three meals a day for residents, plus snacks, with organic and gluten-free options. Let us know what your dietary needs and preferences are, and we’ll work with you to get just what you need. Fresh, organic, and seasonal produce and meats are readily available in our health-conscious area, and we can make sure our pantry is stocked for you.</p> <h3>Common Areas</h3> <p>In the traditional household style, our common areas include a living room, dining room, activity space, covered front porch, patio, and backyard area. Our indoor areas also provide enough space for movement and light exercise. There’s even a fully enclosed patio with soft furnishings, perfect for lounging when the weather is beautiful. In our backyard is another patio area with a garden and more space for sunbathing.</p> <h3>Activities</h3> <p>Our home staff is here to help coordinate activities for everyone. We provide options for mentally stimulating activities specifically curated for residents with Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia. Let us know your favorite game or hobby, and we’ll do our best to add it to our collection. Maybe you could give us a lesson!</p> <p>We also understand how important physical activity and stimulation are to keep everyone happy and healthy. We have spaces allocated for getting our steps in, along with designated times for stretching and learning how to stay fit and flexible. If you’re used to a specific form of exercise, we’ll be sure to add it to the mix.</p> <p>Parties and games are another way we like to spend time together, particularly for birthdays and holidays. We also enjoy having backyard BBQs during warmer months. We’re lucky to live in such a green area where oxygen-rich air fills us with inspiring energy and joy whenever we step outside.</p> <h3>Personal Services</h3> <p>It’s our duty to you to assist with the everyday tasks of life that may have weighed you down in the past. No need to worry about chores or never-ending maintenance, as we have it covered. We provide housekeeping, laundry, and dry-cleaning services to all residents and pride ourselves on keeping an orderly home. We’ve got grocery shopping covered too, so you can always have your favorite items on hand. Transportation services are provided to residents with a reasonable fee. Want a fresh new style? We offer on-site beautician and barber services so everyone in our home can keep looking and feeling their personal best. </p> <h3>Local Area</h3> <p>From great food to arts and entertainment, Vancouver has it all. Our community even holds a weekly drive-in movie event called Friday Night Flicks, where family-oriented movies put everyone in good spirits. The Vancouver Farmers Market is another town favorite and is known as Southwest Washington’s number-one visitor destination. With live music entertainment and over 250 booths of fresh local produce, plants and flowers, baked goods, home goods, art, jewelry, and more, the Farmers Market is a fun and festive way to enjoy a day in the park. For acute and emergency medical needs, rest assured knowing the nearest hospital, PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, is a quick two miles away.</p> <h3>Medical Services</h3> <p>Our care staff is readily available around the clock for any immediate needs residents may have. We offer kind and patient assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) — such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, toileting, sitting, standing, and walking — for all residents in need of such aid. We can also enlist care services from visiting specialists and therapists to aid our residents’ ongoing care needs. Our staff is trained to calmly and compassionately handle symptoms related to Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia, such as disorientation and exit-seeking behaviors. We offer specialized caregiver training to all our staff members to best suit the needs of our residents at any given time. We can accomodate most long-term needs and rehabilitation and will remain up to date on everything you need, as your care needs may change or evolve.</p> <h3>Care Types Offered</h3> <p>Eli’s Adult Care Home is licensed as an <em>adult family home</em>, which in the state of Washington refers to a facility that provides assistance with daily activities, health support services, and intermittent nursing services for two to six residents. Health support services include dementia care and mental health care. </p>
