The facility also has a skilled nursing wing where the care is equally expert. My dad spent a few weeks there after a hospital visit. He was expertly cared for during his rehabilitation phase, after which he was transferred back to his assisted living room via a wheelchair trip down the hall. Nice. The staff is friendly, and the food is great (and included in the price). The Finnish history creates a sense of community. Extra care (beyond assisted living functions) is available and reasonably priced. A FAV employee has even spent (literally) hours on hold with a government agency helping to solve a problem difficult for me to do, given that I live in Wisconsin. It was a major plus that many of the staff speak Finnish, which my parents speak, but the non-Finnish residents love it there as well. \n\nThe nurses and nurse aides took great care of my parents, from help with mobility and bathing to friendly conversations to reminding them when it was meal time and activity time. \n\nThankfully, FAV doesn’t use confusing or opaque tier systems with their pricing.
