I would recommend to others. The place could use some updates. We went to one event that promised food, music, and games and it was a bit lackluster and depressing

[name removed], the director (I don't know his title) is amazing. He goes over & above to make things nice for everyone. He treats everyone respectfully. Other staff members are friendly and compassionate. My mother in law has been very happy.

Very Caring Community
Holy Family Manor was clean and the people were caring. Unfortunately, my brother's dementia caused him to physically strike an aide, so he was only there about 2 weeks, and from there was re-hospitalized

Caring People, But More Needed
We chose it based on a friend's experience. Unfortunately, it has been going downhill mostly due to a shortage of care givers. It is a mid-price home with some very caring people.

Heart Warming Place
Every single person was kind and helpful at Holy Family Manor. The move in process could use work. As a better procedure of the doctor/nurse should see them at the site within 1-2 days upon arrival. Everyone needs to be aware of DNR immediately of arrival so unnecessary resuscitation is avoided. I/we would recommend Family Manor very highly.

It is 5 minutes from my home. I am familiar with the complex as my children went to preschool there. I wanted him there originally but they were full. That's how he ended up at Arden Courts 2 years ago.

To the Staff from the [name removed] Family
So far my families experience is well with Holy Family. My father was an alter boy years ago, his sister attended HS here and his Aunt - [name removed] died and was buried here. I think this facility brings my father comfort knowing him and my mother are cared for here. I can not be more grateful for [name removed] that's an aide on the dementia floor with my mom. She makes sure everyone feels special, including the visitors. [name removed] is a blessing as well. I believe he is the director (recruiter) of Holy Family, but he plays multiple roles regardless of his title. [name removed] goes above and beyond his duties. I'm sorry [name removed] I don't know your title :(. There's also [name removed] the Activities Coordinator and again plays multiple roles and goes out of her way for the community - nursing home. She also made sure my father knew the location that my fathers Aunt was buried at on the grounds. [name removed] the nurse on the dementia floor makes you feel welcome. I can not be more grateful! Thanks

A place where loved ones are cared for like family
My Dad was taken care of for the short time he was there and we were happy for that. He liked the fact that he could attend mass and the staff made sure they took him down. We were thankful for that too. And when he wasn't eating, they gave me small containers of food I took to his room to feed him. That was special, as otherwise he wouldn't have eaten. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend Holy Family Manor to other families.

They Treat You Like Family
I would highly recommend the community. This is a lovely place. The administrator couldn't have been nicer, hands on, or caring. The nursing director was fantastic to work with as well. Cards, games, movies, entertainment, presentations, and more are some of the activities offered to the residents. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and there choices for the residents to choose from with some additional anytime items as well.

Can’t say enough
Mom has been a resident at Holy Family Manor since June 2021 and we couldn’t be happier with the respectful care she receives every day. Mom is happy with the food which says a lot. She is not very social but it is not because of the lack of activities. The caregivers, physical therapists and anyone checking you in at the front desk are all attentive and friendly people. Holy Family Manor has a lot to offer at a reasonable cost.

We are happy with what they provide
Mom seems to like some of the food and they are accommodating. If there is something she does not like they will make her something different. They seem to be a little light on staff, however the staff are helpful and take good care of mom. I like the setup of the community and they keep the community clean. They offer daily activities. This community is a good value for what they offer and I would recommend this community.

A loving caring home away from home
My mother is a resident at Holy Family Manor. She has dementia and was involved in a horrible car accident that left her unable to use her left arm and both legs. [Removed], the administrator wasted no time setting mom up with physical therapy. Mom is doing great! She is in the memory unit with lots of care and love. She has her on room, and is treated with the most respect. The food is great and lots of activities. Mom loves going to church. You can be at ease with a loved one at Holy Family Manor.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored Holy Family Manor 9.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
