The staff is very warm and friendly and really do care about my mom. My mom can be feisty sometimes, and they love that she is. They have told me that if she wasn't feisty, they would think that she was giving up. They have had multiple activity directors during our few years at Keystone. Every director that we have had has been very active and involved with the residents in the memory care. The activities that I have witnessed have been appropriate physically and mentally. My mom is wheelchair-bound and cannot communicate well but is able to hit at a balloon and sing the songs that they sing together. They has also brought in outside entertainment, such as a violinist who sings and brought a bird. He was very entertaining and everyone loved him! My mom loves the food that they provide. I will say that from time to time, some of the food provided to memory care is a little challenging for those without teeth, and who already have trouble swallowing pills. The staff feeds my mother, but sometimes the bites are not cut as small as needed for her And giving her a wrap is just not manageable since she cannot chew the wrap well without teeth. She cannot keep dentures in her mouth anymore. As far as the room size goes, the rooms are fantastic! They are large, I have high ceilings, and provide all of the necessities that are needed in memory care. My mom's room is spacious enough to also have room for her large wheelchair and a Hoyer lift Which is needed to get her in and out of bed.
