On-site activities include daily, morning fitness classes, painting sessions, happy hours, and more. Intergenerational programs and off-site trips, like fishing and wine tasting, are also scheduled on a regular basis, enabling residents the opportunity to interact with a variety of people.</p> <p>Although we want you to maintain as much freedom as possible, we also understand that some residents may require additional assistance. At The Posada at Whittier, our professional staff takes the time to coordinate with residents and their loved ones to create personalized care plans. Medical services include medication management, assistance with daily living activities, and diabetic, incontinence, and ambulatory care, among many other services.</p> <p>For residents living with Alzhiemer’s or other dementia-related illnesses, memory care services are also available on site. Our specialized staff is available 24/7, and all team members undergo special person-centered training to help ensure residents receive the care they need while respecting their individual preferences and abilities.</p> <h3>Living Options</h3> <p>The Posada at Whittier currently offers private studios and one-bedroom units, as well as companion studios. All units have emergency communication systems connecting the front desk for urgent needs. Some units offer private balconies and patio features. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furnishings to help them feel even more comfortable. Temporary, respite care options are also available.</p> <h3>Care Types Offered</h3> <p>The Posada at Whittier is a <em>residential care facility for the elderly (RCFE)</em>, which in the state of California is a housing arrangement for persons 60 years or older where supervision and personal care is provided based on the needs of the residents.
