I am the POA for a resident of Magnolia Manor. she has lived there going on 5 years, she is quite happy there. if the rate continues to go up as much as years past it will be over her income. please take this into consideration.

My review of Magnolia Manor
My loved one likes the meals. This was the best thing that I could have ever done for my loved one. I feel like I should have done it a long time ago and I am a lot more comfortable now. They have one set cost and it makes it a lot easier. The other places were nice but this was the best to us. This is a small place and very intimate I know that my loved one is well taken care of.

Our loved one was very happy there
The staff members at the community were great, and our loved one really enjoyed the meals. He was so impressed with the food the served. Even during covid they still tried to have some actives that our loved one participated in. The community is all on one floor with 40 units so it just worked would really well for him

My Mom has been a resident at Magnolia Manor for almost 2 yrs. I am very pleased with the caring and professional staff, the activities (in spite of COVID-19), the extremely clean environment and the responsiveness of the managerial team. She is so happy being in the community and she receives excellent care and feels loved by all. As her primary caregiver I am delighted that Magnolia Manor has remained COVID free; unlike most ALF's in our area. Prior to COVID I visited every day and had a lot of contact with all staff and felt that my Mom was in the best, safe, caring home.

Great Place
I did extensive research into Assisted Living business models before placing my Mom at Magnolia Manor Daytona Beach. The owners demonstrate that they care for their residents more than profits. Pricing is all inclusive with very few add ons. They do not increase their rates every year and accept private and public forms of payment. They have kept their facility entirely Covid-19 free. Most importantly, the staff they hire are extremely caring people. The industry is fraught with high employee turnover but they maintain a solid core of caring staff and hire new caregivers accordingly.

I am the POA for a resident at Magnolia Manor. She is very happy there and has a nice place. When she is happy so am I! She has lived there for 2.5 years. Her favorite thing is going on the bus outings. We have a good relationship with the staff.

Overall I think the place is great. The only issue I see is too much staff turnover and I fell sometimes it reflects on being short staff which comes at a price for the resident's care. It also limits activities if staff is covering the issue of being short-staffed. Would love to see a shuffleboard game but outside as an activity in the future. Also the 2,000 now refundable deposit is a bit steep for the elderly.

Activities during the day need to be geared towards people sometimes who can't quite comprehend normal routine and also activities for "men." Would like to see activities done outside on patio when warm. Also if front door is going to be kept open then an employee must be at the front desk at all times. To prevent residents that should not be outside alone and safety reasons. Otherwise, experience has been great!!

Review of Magnolia Manor
We toured several facilities before deciding that Magnolia Manor was the perfect community for my mom. It is a well kept, beautiful property; always clean! My mom adores all the staff and they love her. She has many new friends and she enjoys the daily exercises as well as the humorous and varied activities. It is very comforting to our family to know that she is well taken care of 27/7/365. There are lots of menu options and meals prepared fresh. The mgmt team sponsors themed events with an open invitation to the family members to participate.
Highly recommended!

So Thankful for Magnolia Manor
I am so thankful for A Place for Mom helping me find Magnolia Manor for my mom. She has settled in nicely and is very happy. The staff is so good with her and go above and beyond to help her and make sure she is well taken care of. The activities directors is amazing and provides great activities for all of the residents. You can tell she really loves her job and cares about the residents. The facility is very bright and clean.

Mom has only been there a little over a week. The staff is nice and the place is clean. The meals look good. I like the fact that the residence all get the call button to wear. Mom had to use that already. Prices for care are better than most.

She loves it there!
Unfortunately Mom's stay at Forest Manor has been short lived since she fell and is now in the hospital.We're hoping she'll be abe to return after a bit of rehab but not sure. My experience with the community was great! The staff seems to be very good people and very friendly and we had absolutely no problems whatsoever with the community. My mother in law is 90 and falling just comes with the age. We're hoping that she'll go back and couldn't be happier to have found the community with the help of Amy Adamski from A Place For Mom.

Forest Lake is just okay. The staff that is there are nice, but they are very short staffed and cannot keep employees. The facility could be kept much cleaner, but again they do not have many employees on hand.

Unprofessional, Incompetent, Dirty and failing
This place should be shut down but it will likely go out of business first. Only 15-20 of 80 beds filled. They have no money so they are cutting the budget for FOOD and no prizes for bingo. The food is inedible, the rooms are filthy, the management are incompetent, they try to steal, [removed] They have aids handing out medication and one was caught falsifying records last week. TV remotes do not work and no one is bright enough to program. Their billing is horrible and after 14 requests they still have no accounting for the trust fund. This is a very sick place and every medical professional we spoke to told us to leave because they are known to be very bad. There are no phones in the patients room and they quite often do not answer the main phone number. [removed] They have cut the FOOD budge and no longer give out prizes for bingo!!!!! Run away quick.
