Be prepared to manage your expectations

I’ve been a post-surgical rehab patient here 3 times, so far. I keep coming back because of all the nursing homes I’be had experiences with over the years (my mom bounced from one nursing home to another for about 10 years and I’ve dealt with every doctor, LVN, RN, DoN/charge nurse, med nurse and administrator in East Texas and the nursing homes were all deplorable and the employees were too) Park Place has been the best nursing home/rehab experience I’ve ever had. The reason I said to manage your expectations is because for all its strengths there are many weaknesses. Meals are often served late and you will be given the beverages for your meal 30-45 minutes before you get your actual meal. When you hit your call light it can take FOREVER for anyone to answer it. You have to really speak up and advocate for yourself when it comes to things like getting what you need to shower, and getting your bed linens changed. The food isn’t bad and the employees are kind even if they’re overworked
