Deceptive and misleading

We were supposed to move in to another facility. They closed about a couple weeks after accepting my check. Luckily, they hadn't cashed it yet. They have other places that were still open, and The Forum at the Crossing tried to get us there-- and then we found out (from one of their other places) that the one I liked up north (The Forum at the Crossing) wasn't actually assisted living, so our insurance wouldn't have kicked in (so they were once again lying to get money-- and hurt us). I would stay away from all facilities from this company.

Review for The Forum at the Crossing

She really loves it there. She she says the is so much food to choose from and has great daily meals. The people and staff are very friendly and helpful. The living areas are larger with full kitchen, large bathroom and the rooms have central air. They have lots of activities to do, lunches they can go to and sign up shopping. She loves to take care of her raised bed garden.

This is a good place.

Those are my dad’s words. Good food, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, nice library. He likes the monthly men’s lunches, special programs and veteran discount. They offer essential extras for dressing, showers and medication reminders. Not set up for medical care. Had some problems cleaning apartments when Norovirus hit. They make a great effort to accommodate the residents. My dad likes it there.

Single Woman's Paradise: no cooking,no cleaning, just FUN

I love this place! if you can afford it, it's the best senior living community and all of Indy! Staff are sincerely interested in our welfare;always upbeat;willing to go the extra mile for us.It's like having your mom and grandma at your beck & call! Coming from 2000 sq. ft. to 860 has been a challenge but room size& storage closets are great. As far as amenities, enough activities to make your head spin. Transportation is easy to arrange & reliable. Staff had us on "lockdown " due to novovirus & managed very competently:always a good test of good management!

Helpful staff

We did not have much time to find a facility as my loved one was coming out of rehab. After visiting 3 facilities, The Forum at the crossing impressed us the most. The facility is very clean, bright and a little more affordable than the others we saw. All of the staff members were very helpful. My mom was a little difficult at first, but they really took their time with her as she was adjusting.

I like it here

They're better than other places that I looked at. But there's still some shortcomings. They're having a tremendous turnover of staff, and I would like to see a steady, consistent staff. But the food is very tasty and well-prepared, and they offer a wide selection. And what activities I've done I've enjoyed.

Best Nursing Home Community in Central Indian

If I had anyone that needed nursing home services, The Forum would be my first choice. They tried to do their best to mitigate COVID. The community was ahead of the curve in not allowing visitors at the start of the pandemic. The staff all had some type of medical designation. Doctor recommended.

Air conditioning & heating issues for years

I have a loved one here. My main frustration is the heating & cooling. The air conditioning was out this past weekend (fortunately it's spring, May/2019). The heat goes out in the winter on occasion, too. Happens EVERY season for over 4 years now. I understand they run on an old boiler type system and when something happens, I guess older parts are hard to get. Residents are given fans & space heaters, but it's not acceptable. No A/C last year with temps in the 90's for residents is unacceptable and not just a day or two. They need to permanently fix this. It's NEVER a quick fix and is just unacceptable. Otherwise a good facility.

Patient Care

The rehab part of this facility is substandard. If you do not have a patient advocate to protect you, you enter this facility at your own risk. After a couple of days of late meds, no response to call button and other "little" issues involving care, it was time to relocate to another rehab facility. The fact that the interior of the rehab wing was beyond tired and in need of rehabilitation and cleaning was not a factor in leaving. It's all about patient care.
