The food has dropped since The Discovery Group bought the property, they seem to be more interested in money than us. Lots of things to do, most don't interest me but guess they are geared to the mental state of most residents. They do try to take care of the property, landscaping is not high on their agenda. I say that because I used to own a landscape company for 15 years. In response to value for the money. It is expensive to live here but I suppose that would be true everywhere. I am satisfied that I am getting the care I need so my family doesn't worry about me. Yes I would recommend this place

When [name removed] moved in, there were several issues getting the apartment ready, although the lease signing process went smoothly. The staff has been very supportive and responsive, checking on [name removed] each time the Life Alert monitor was accidentally activated. The food is very good, though guests are charged between $[removed] and $[removed] to join their family member for a meal. Apartments are cleaned every other week, with linens washed in between cleanings. The grounds and common areas are consistently clean and well maintained. The apartment is a nice size for one person. The bathroom is a bit small and could be difficult to navigate for someone using a wheelchair.

Beautiful location and scenery, and a very large property. Spacing of buildings concerned me for my mom’s mobility. Buildings are going through renovations which is nice they are upgrading the facilities. The peaceful serenity of the location in The Woodlands was the greatest aspect.

The Forum at the Woodlands

The Forum is an enjoyable place. I have liked here for a year and I really like it. There are lots of activities and the property is great to walk around and enjoy. There is a Great Lake with gucks and turtles. A gazebo out over the lake has a great swing to sit on and watch happenings. Every Thursday there is a happy hour with live entertainment. During the week there are artists who play string instruments that come during the noon hour and play for us. Bottom line it is a great place for me to be aspirated with.

The Forum at the Woodlands

I think that the size of the assisted living apartments are a decent size for the price, at least the unit I got. I was unaware going in that each unit has a different price and the price they tell you is the lowest one. When it said "starting at" I had thought that was due to the care costs being an additional cost depending on care needs but it was also for unit prices. My mom is on the younger side, 68, so the activities they have aren't of interest to her, she is also introverted though so that may be part of the roadblock. I love that the facility has a duck pond and an outdoor pool, I think it's a great location for grandparents that have grandchildren that are younger than teenage due to the pool and pond appealing heavily to my 6 year old son. All of the units have nice sized balconies as well, my mom's is screened in so no worries about bug bites. Great location for north spring, woodlands and south Conroe families. For the assisted living restaurant, I like that you can circle your choice on the menu. My mom has dementia so it helps her maintain more of her independence. Overall I think they've helped me and my mom with the adjustment

I would not recommend The Forum. They have no communication at all. The food is terrible. The nurses did not give my mother her medication correctly

I loved the landscaping and grounds. Everyone was so friendly there. The independent living facilities are a perfect place for someone who is truly independent or has someone who can help them navigate the buildings.

Magnificent in room service and linens rotation always maintained.

A schedule of my apartment cleaning and linen rotations was expertly handled. There was never a question on her arrival and always had a smile. I am totally satisfied with the accommodations I have been given.

Not a good experience

The communication with the staff was not good. I did not have a lot of confidence in them dispensing medicine. They seemed confused about the medicine. Overall it was not a good experience. They did everything to get us to move in and nothing once we moved in. The internet was down for 2 weeks so no television.

My dad is very happy there. We are all happy with the cost as compared to his standard of living there. I recently visited my dad and all the staff and employees were friendly and helpful. My dad is paying $[fee removed]/month, and his same living situation would be $[fee removed]k/month here in LA.

Would Recommend.

The forum is a great place for seniors who do not need a lot of support. Seniors have to be relatively independent to be successful in this community. The people are very nice and the facilities are also really nice. There is not much of a difference in the level of care as your senior ages that is available. They are a great facility. My dad's illness just progressed faster than we anticipated.

Friendly and beautiful community

The people were so accommodating & nice. The sales person we dealt with worked around our schedules for tour of facilities & signing of documents. Also the residents were so happy there & shared their opinions. They allowed us to eat a free meal in the dining room which was great since food was an issue at my mom's last place. They also offered some great discounts to help us with costs of the transition. The best value for the money!

Great staff, beautiful grounds, substandard apartments.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very friendly and kind. My biggest problem was with the apartment. It was small and dark and depressing, and had problems with infestation of bugs, specifically cockroaches..I told management and they said it would be taken of, but wasn't. As a retired chef, the tiny kitchen was frustrating and difficult to work in The new cheap flooring leaked glue and always felt wet, which was unpleasant. Several parcels had been delivered to the front desk, which disappeared. Many activities were offered, which was nice. In general, the demographics were a little too old for me. Also, only 3 washers and dryers to accommodate the entire building made doing laundry challenging. As an insomniac , I would use the laundry at 1 or 2 am because there were so many people needing the facility during the day and evening.

Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Texas’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
