I would give Belmont Village LP a rating of 5 ( best) in every category. No place is perfect; but we have been very pleased with the experience we have had the last 2.5 years. Belmont Village is especially good at engaging its residents in a variety of ways , through activities that meet them where they are. My mom is in the memory floor and the interaction and programming is outstanding. No one is isolated. The quality of care and concern for their residents is clear.

At Belmont Village :There seems to be a lot of turnover with the administrative staff, but the caregiving staff stay for the long-haul, which ultimately I feel is more important because they develop the rapport and important psychosocial engagement that determines whether quality of life is good or bad at the end of the day. The activities are super engaging and consistent and the facility is small enough that there seems to be a good ratio of caregivers to residence. If your loved one is in the supportive living program there, I would highly recommend getting the alert button/pendant used to call for a Pal when support is needed. It's a good safety measure and there is a good response time. [name removed], [name removed]and [name removed]were the caregivers, or Pals, that my aunt worked with most often and they were truly wonderful and authentically kind people. I would recommend actively advocating and visiting with your loved ones there. Like any Senior Care residential space or skilled nursing facility, the more involved or present you are the better idea you have your loved ones' needs and the more likely you'll see an alignment between identifying their needs, and their needs being met. Also, at Belmont Village, for comprehensive continence support, ADL support and medication management she was paying around $[fee removed] monthly out of pocket for her unit. This was excellent and beautiful, and she was able to have her cat as long as a family member came and took care of it and scooped the litter. However, she blew through funds pretty quickly at that rate and ended up, outliving her money, which forced us to move her to another facility. The administrative staff was willing to help her downsize to a smaller unit which had less devastating rent, but even so it was quite expensive. However, she did receive excellent care...

My mother passed away about a year ago. We loved Belmont Village Thousand Oaks!!! They were absolutely amazing! The program they offer for Dementia patients was really fun and helpful with memory issues. My mother was a teacher in her working days. She was really impressed with the curriculum. At first we were told Belmont prices were really high. When we went, we found out they have a flat rate which covers everything unless you need depends for incontinence. Those would get charged separately. We didn't need those. My mother's vision was really bad and she ended up feeing safer in a wheelchair since she couldn't see where she was going. They helped her shower, came and got her for classes, I could go on and on. They went on outings to get ice cream, drives along the coast...all included. We were at [facility removed] where they kept charging more and more without telling us why or what the charges were for. Belmont was true to their word. One flat rate for everything. Boy was it worth it!!! Privately owned. The effort they put in to understanding the level of cognitive level of each resident was impressive. We sat through the first test with my mother. She actually improved with time. She was placed in a group of people with similar cognitive levels. They were always together which helped keeping things consistent. This program was amazing! As the family of a resident, we were always invited to join in with their activities. My brother, sister in-law, my husband, and I all agreed that when we need to move to a place for help...Belmont would be our first choice!

Belmont takes their reputation for providing top notch care for their residents seriously. They are concerned with, and do their best to treat the residents with kindness and caring service. They request feedback on everything from the food quality to how my mother is being listened to for special requests. They also provide services to accommodate everything needed. If I’m out of town they will take care of any emergency or need so I can relax and know that everything is under control.

The friendliness and personal attention to residents as well as family. They worked with us for the best possible outcome for my dad's stay. The training staff received so they knew the best way to help residents

The facility is about 5 years old so still "new". It is well laid out, the memory care unit has two common areas for activities and another area for small groups. There is an outdoor secured and sheltered patio area which is also used for activities when weather permits. Bathrooms are roomy with roll-in showers. Staff has always been friendly, caring and accommodating. Turnover is significant as expected but all new staff seem to be well trained before they hit the floor. The activities staff is more stable and are outstanding. They mix interactive activities with exercise and less intense periods. They are what makes the facility truly special.

My mother-in-law was moved from another large well-known facility in Burbank that was absolutely horrendous and we were desperate to find a new place for her. Thank goodness for the recommendation by our place for Mom advocate because they recommended Belmont and it was such a fantastic move for her. She requires the beginnings of memory care and she went from, pacing the halls and not eating to having friends memory improvement great nutrition to a wonderful life now. Her quality of life is just so good and it seems like her memory issues have actually slightly improved and get better every month. I cannot recommend them high enough.

Very honestly, I would give a five for each of the categories. I know my dad was only there for a few weeks but overall the care and consideration everybody had for him made myself and my sisters so happy that he was able to be in your facility. Our only wish was that we could've talked him into coming to Belmont months earlier and he would've made some friendships with the people there but he was a little too stubborn for us to do that. Thanks for all you've done for him. I would definitely give high marks to your staff including the nurses and the assistants. My dad made a great connection with a couple of the gentleman who helped him and always came quickly when called. Everyone was so pleasant and more than willing to sit down and talk to us when we had questions. The atmosphere of the facility I felt made people feel comfortable when they walked in and it felt more like a living room and not a sterile type of facility at all. My Dad had a studio which we didn't know for sure would work since he came from his own home when he first came but the way it was designed and the fact that he could hang up different things from World War II and family pictures was another great feature!

Overall, excellent to exceptional!(I consider a 4 excellent and a 5 exceptional.) Common areas are totally immaculate, but my mother's floor could be cleaned more thoroughly. Quantity and quality of activities is excellent, though selection of movies has declined with the appointment of a new programmer. Also, a facility of this quality and cost should have more comfortable seats in the theatre.
