I don't know much about assisted living facilities... my sisters and I got lucky and we were recommended this one by a knowledgeable person for our mother. Our mom has been there two months and she really likes it. It is not just a very clean and friendly place. There are activities all week long. Mom has found a sense of community with her peers. Visits from her children, friends, and other relatives of course have helped her in this transition. She knows she has simply moved to a more supportive place for her physical limitations, but her connection to others has not changed. In fact due to her safer environment, it has improved! I just visited her last weekend. The staff are enthusiastic and supportive. The residents represent all types of people and all functioning levels. Quite a few are over a 100 years old. One guy who is over a hundred "winters" there then goes back to work as a construction manager back East. This facility is located in a very nice area. It is on the border of Beverly Hills and West LA and the cost is quite reasonable.

After touring several different assisted living facilities in Vacaville, my grandma and I decided on Cornerstone Assisted Living Facility. 8 months later, we couldn't be happier with the choice. Cornerstone is a family owned business that truly cares about its residents. You can really tell the difference when you compare it to the corporate owned facilities. Alana, Shelley, and Jolene are fantastic people that will treat your loved one like one of their own. My grandma has dementia and had had some health complications during her time here. From top to bottom, the staff is always friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They are always looking out for her and making sure that she and her beloved dog have everything that they need. I feel good about where grandma lives. I would recommend Cornerstone to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for a family member.

They have been pretty good I think. Like earlier today I tried to call my mom and couldn't get a hold of her, so we called the front desk and they went looking for her, so they are just real helpful like that. They are really service-oriented.

Convenient to bus lines; kosher kitchen provides A- Number One meals; many activities including Shabbat services in its own synagogue, shopping trips, frequent recent release films; cordial and helpful staff (we harmless old coots still enjoy being surrounded by lovely ladies). Glad I chose BHCRHS after I retired.

We chose Beverly Hills Carmel because it was just very warm; the residents, the staff and even the people that come clean the rooms are very sweet and welcoming. The meals are all home cooked and really taste good. The provide laundry, room cleaning, snacks, tea, library and just about anything else you are looking for. It is located on a kind of busy street but the trees block it out. The community has a central courtyard that provides a place to relax. The community has plenty of windows and provides lots of lighting. There is a sitting area in the community that has a really big window that you can just sit and look at trees. He chose to opt for the option that has two rooms together so he set it up as a living room in one and his bedroom in the other. He can open and close his window as he chooses. We feel like he is not in danger of hurting himself and they really give them the freedom to do as they want while still keeping an eye on him. The dining room and just everything is so pretty its kind of like being on a cruise. You don’t feel like it is a place you put someone in and feel bad about in fact we actually like to visit. We are very happy with Beverly Hills Carmel and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I love the facility and staff, wish my mother in law would take advantage of what they have to offer. She refuses to get out of bed, hopefully that will change in the future. She gets along well with the staff except for one. I have to ask sometimes to get her laundry done which I think has to do with being short staffed in housekeeping. I would recommend this facility.

My mother's been there for about three months and the place is lovely and the people are lovely, unfortunately she doesn't' feel well so she participates zero. The food is very iffy. She's used to a diet full of fresh vegetables, whole grains, and it's just really not happening there. That's difficult for her but as far as attentiveness and them being there in case of an emergency and helpful and their responsiveness, they're great. The place is clean and the people are very kind and cheerful. Everyday in the elevator I see the list of activities. There's bingo, yoga, music, bridge, movies, etc. They have a lovely patio. The facility is beautiful and you have all sorts of people there. You don't get a feeling of an "old folks home." It's more like a 4 star or 5 star hotel. Her room has nice, high ceilings - it didn't feel small. As soon as I saw that room I knew that was it for her.

Someone whom I met through Avenidas showed me numerous memory care facilities from Redwood City to MV. I had almost decided on one for my loved one before we toured VT, the last place..The decision was made! Villa Toscana is clean, new, corridors are well lighted, inviting for walks, the dining area is bright with a lovely view of the hills. The open air patio is a super place to enjoy the sun- or shade under a big umbrella. The staff is competent, friendly and caring. One might wish for a few more activities but that will probably happen as more residents move in. Villa Toscana is an excellent “home” for my husband.

Very pricey what I do like about it is that it’s a retirement community. Also, if it were just assisted-living in memory care, it would be a little bit depressing my mom‘s not too happy to be there but that’s because she would rather be somewhere else. her house flooded. She’s been living with me and I can’t pick her up so I can’t Have her stay with me. The staff is really nice. The facilities is beautiful. The food is really good. The ambience is nice. They have lots of activities.

The facility is very nice however when we tried to talk about finances-what it would take to get into the facility as a resident- we were not able to get a clear answer. The facility is clean and well maintained and it is the best place we have seen for what we have been looking for.

Food. Attention to detail. My Mom could not use silverware, yet when I came by one day at lunch time she had a bowl of soup in front of her. Quality of care. My Mom fell the first two nights she was there. We had a meeting and decided it was because she had never been in a wheelchair. They promised not to use the wheelchair anymore. About a month later she began falling again. She fell three times and had to go to the hospital for stitches twice. Someone had started putting her back into the wheelchair.

The cost is much more reasonable but the care is basically the same. The major difference is that they use an outside service called Senior Doc. A PA or Dr visit instead of my having to take her to her appts. It's made a huge difference. Getting her & her walker in & out of my car is exhausting for both of us. They also take weekly vitals. The only drawback here is that they don't respond to maintenance requests. The drain in her bathroom sink isn't connected so it leaks all over the floor. She has to use the kitchen sink. We've requested they fix it several times.

I stayed here for 4 weeks. The staff were really excellent. The nurse who checked my entire body for bed sores. Very thorough. The food is not that great but you can use DoorDash to get food delivered. Also the rooms are a good size. I didn’t feel cramped. They have a room where you can play games such as dominoes etc. The physical therapy guys are very good too. The only thing is they checked my vitals many times throughout the day and nite. I do highly recommend.

Generally speaking, the staff is very good! There is an employee that I'm keeping an eye on as she seems impatient with residents in the memory care area. Our family has 3 people that visit during the week and we are all aware of this. Housekeeping is good I guess, however, we clean my mom's room when we are there. There was an odor in my mom's room last week that we couldn't figure out where it was coming from, but I think it's resolved now. As far as communication goes, I think it's fine. We keep a binder on my mom's dresser and we each make notes as to how our visits go and some of the care takers also write in it! The move in process went smoothly! Most of the meals look good and my mom has gained weight being there! There are a lot of activities that keep them busy on a daily basis! My suggestions would be that I would like to see them wipe chairs and tables down more often and thoroughly. They don't always feel clean and with elderly, the seats can be soiled with out anyone knowing. I would and have recommended The Lodge to other family and friends!

The communication between the floor manager and the families need to be much more. They need to be better with laundry service, have lost many pairs of brand new pants and shirts. They keep her bedroom door open all day long, and at least one of the clients comes into my aunts room and lays on her bed!!! Few more things. Don't get a fuzzy feeling from [name removed] the ED. Beautiful facility, good food.
