Fantastic staff

We chose Colonial Manor because of the location, it is only 20 minutes from my sister. The room sizes are the size of a large hotel room. My mother is happy with the food, they have at least two choices for lunch and dinner and they can always order a sandwich or something if they do not like the choices. My favorite part about this community so far has been the staff members, they are caring and generous with their time which means a lot to her. They have gone out of their way for her and she feels close with the staff members. I would recommend.

The value is fantastic

I think that the value is fantastic. Its very clean. I think the staff is very, very friendly. It's really homey than a big nursing home. The apartment is very beautiful and very nice. I'm happy with the Colonial Manor. They are very sweet people. It's great.

An Excellent Choice

My Mom was, like many seniors, reluctant to transition to an assisted living environment. Nevertheless, she is quickly becoming comfortable at Colonial Manor thanks in large part to the friendly, caring staff and the positive environment created by its happy residents, The facility is attractive and welcoming and services are first rate. We believe the cost represents excellent value. Overall, our family is very pleased to have discovered Colonial for our Mom.

Great Place, Care Might Not Be Right For Us

They take care of the place and they seem to be friendly enough. The care is good. It's assisted living and we're wondering whether my mother-in-law needs a nursing home. I think they're an excellent place but she has maybe a little more problems that are appropriate for that environment. They're a support environment. They're not interested in personal hygiene or taking care of the cat. It's a lovely place, she's just not adjusting well.

Beautiful friendly loving home.

Recently move my elderly aunt into Colonial Manor in Allamuchy NJ. [name removed] and the staff welcomed her and made her feel comfortable and safe. After over 50 years of owning her own home and living as a successful independent woman, the transition to assisted living went so well. Her room is newly renovated, bright and warm. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is very attentive and efficient with my aunt’s needs, care and medications. Now after two months our family is reassured that we made the best decision choosing Colonial Manor.

They do not have 24 hour assistance. Staff is available til maybe 8pm, then they just have a line for emergencies after that. My dad complains that the food served is bland.

An affordable community

What our family likes the most about the Colonial Manor at Panther Valley is that it is all inclusive and the rooms they provide for the residents are a good size. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Tour experience

We had a nice tour experience with Colonial Manor Hackettstown. For us the cost was a little too high and also this is a very small home. We thought my dad would thrive being in a bigger environment with more people to interact with.

Feels like home

This community is very nice homey, quaint and clean. Everyone is very friendly at this community. They also have activities like bingo, movie night, and people come in for entertainment in the community. They also have happy hour on Friday and wed and more for the residents to do. They also have transportation into town to do things around the community.

Colonial Manor Hackettstown

The community seems clean whenever we go. The staff is good and there is one woman in particular who is great with my mother-in-law. The care seems to be 1 on 1 and it seems like all her needs are met. They do offer bingo and cards for activities, which my mother-in-law does enjoy. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, they offered exercise classes. Outside of that, there isn't much in the way of entertainment. We do think the community is a good value for the price.

The facility looked very warm and comfortable. [Removed] was very nice and gave me a very thorough overview of what is included and a tour of the facility. They seem to really care about the residents and their needs. Many amenities are included in the monthly fee .

Lovely facility, but needs better food and a new manager

The facility is nice and clean, and the majority of the staff is friendly and very attentive. Unfortunately, the food is terrible (bad enough that we must supplement our family member's meals). They advertise restaurant style dining, but that is not true of the food quality! In addition, the manager (the owner's son) has a terrible attitude toward the residents. The atmosphere can be quite negatively affected when he is present.

Good

The Colonial Manor is good. They keep it up very well. The cottages are nice. I think there should be more activities. The costumer service should be a little better. Other than that, It has been a pretty good experience.

Nice place overall

Overall we're pleased with the service at this community. It's clean, and the staff and residents are all very friendly. We like how it is a smaller community, with a much more intimate family feel. The staff know the residents and their families on a first name basis. The only complaint we've heard is that the food could use some improvement.

Better fit for independent living...

The facility was fine, but it definitely was not a good fit for my loved one. They seemed more like stand-alone, independent living apartments rather than a senior living residence. There weren't very many services available to my loved one.

Mom likes it here - it's a good place

==My mother's at the original Colonial Manor, the old rambling farmhouse on acreage just outside Hackettstown (& near the shopping center). She likes it. The owners care about their guests (in fact, they're extra fond of my mother because she, at 90 years old, is reasonably active & in possession of pretty much all of her faculties), ==Some of the residents are a bit vague & not active. The restrictions in this location are they don't keep patients who have bad Alzheimer's Disease or have other mental conditions that make them hard to handle (physically disabled, yes). The doctors come to the residents on a schedule. ==The price isn't sky-high. The food could be better, Mom says, but it's okay (she says there are too many carbs). It did improve some in the last year after they got a new cook (but I gather they could use some good recipes). ==Mom has a decent-sized room with her own bathroom w/roll-in shower (she uses a shower stool). It's big enough for her single bed (comes w/the place) & my old BR furniture (desk, chair, endtable, large dresser) plus a few extra things like a rocking chair & side table. All she has to do is make her bed, they do the rest. Mom also keeps her car there & still uses it now & then during the day. ==They run a bus to the public library & the shopping center. They have movie night, bingo night, & other activities. They also keep chickens, a guinea hen or two, & a couple of fairly tame pheasants that wandered into the yard after one of the big storms. One of the owners is starting to garden a bit. There are two little dogs (Jack Russell-sized) that are a bit testy to strangers (I think it's just a matter of getting properly acquainted with them). ==All in all, it's a good place. But they have to improve the food...
