This facility has a very warm, welcoming feeling. Everyone seems to really care about the residents and the residents all seem happy.

So Gemstone was going in kinda blind but did a great job. The staff was great. Better food for my mom. Nurses are on top of things. Nothing really bad except Opus Hospice made things difficult and they didn't organize things at all for my mom

What we like the most about Gemstone at NorthStar community is that the staff are professional caring and attentive to the patient.

They have been really great with [name removed]! She gets the care she needs and the care givers are so sweet and patient with her. I would recommend, if I knew someone that needed assisted living.

They keep us up to date and what’s happening at the facility. Updates us on any issues with my mom. Very friendly staff! Different activities for the residents. Tries to keep them active. Nice community atmosphere!

Dad loves all of the activities and options. The food is great. Staff are responsive and keep me up to date with medications and any changes.

Food was generally excellent and nutritious. Nursing care and aides were friendly and competent while some were better than others, of course. Many activities and programs were offered and special occasions were marked with families invited to a really special meal. The only problem I had was that too many of the people living there were bed ridden or didn't want to leave their rooms at all or had some degree of dementia. These problems kept really stimulating activities to a minimum. However, in a wheel hair or on a walker, I'm sure I wasn't at my best either. I did go the art and craft sessions and attend all musical performances. Staying there was a seductive option as it was so easy. But PT and OT and health nurse all said I must go home, and they were right. I'm still acting like a hermit using long term care aides, but I'm getting better about seeing friends.

They were friendly at every level and the overall experience exceeded expectations and it is a great value for money.

Some places have fancy stuff that us old people don't need or use and my home may not have a lot of fancy stuff but it feels like home. It is clean, the staff treat me with so much love and concern. Activities girl is so sweet and does lots of fun stuff with us. We have the best maintenance guy ever. I can't put his name but he always helps us with anything we need and has the building better than it has been since I've been here. The manager lady is always doing all kinds of stuff to make our home look good and even does craft stuff with us. Last but not least the receptionist is the kindest most helpful person you will ever meet. I love my family here.

I can't emphasize enough how much [name removed] life was improved when he moved into the Gemstone home. I would recommend Gemstone to anyone who needs assisted living care. The facility and the caregivers were the best.

Dad loves Brookdale and tells me he wishes that he would have found it sooner. There is so much more to offer than the previous facility he lived at. The cafeteria has better food, there are more planned activities, clean facilities, and an apartment he can call home.

Every time I call, I talk to [name removed] or [name removed] and we always have great conversations and work so well together. They’re super sweet and care so much. There’s never any issues and if there is a concern then we work together to figure out a solution.

I am a healthcare provider and I just finished a clinic at Gemstone. I noticed a pleasant smell when I entered. The residents were well-kept and happy. It was clean. [name removed]was so sweet with the residents. I saw their faces light up and smile when she interacted with them. [name removed] is caring and good at her job. I’m impressed with this facility!

Caring and on top of it. Someone is always checking on my mom and there for her needs. They respond promptly when alerted. Staff is always letter her know what activities are going and seeing if she wants to join in.

When I brought my family member, I was surprised at how quaint the place was. When I met with the staff, they were all I would hope for in people taking care of my family. The rooms are spacious and clean and the community areas are beautiful and cozy. They do so much for their residents and my dad. Everytime I visit, I always leave happy with the level of care. Their med techs are an amazing group and care so much about their residents. I fully recommend this place to anyone who wants to take their family to somewhere that treats them like family.

We are so well taken care of! Med techs are on top of it and the caregivers have a good relationship with us just as well. I moved here 5 years ago and feel at home as I’ve made great friends and memories here.

I would have to say 5 for all the categories. Everything so far with Brookdale San Marcos South has been great. What we like the most is the staff. Their staff team is great, the food that is served is great and they work with my loved one and their dog. I would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

The staff are the best. They are very efficient and friendly. I can't think of anything negative about the facility. Everything about Kincare has exceeded my expectations. Doesn't have that nursing-home smell. Needs are met immediately. The food is always good. From what I hear about other assisted living facilities, Kincare's value seems exceptional.

In my opinion this is a very comfortable place to live. Mgmt & staff seem to have a congenial relationship. And both of them are gracious & thoughtful to us. Even the chefs & kitchen staff listen to our comments & suggestions & try to be helpful. Accidents are inevitable but when hey happen the staff assures us that its all okay and in no time they have it all cleaned up with no complaint. In addition to all that we can wear what we want and eat our bacon with our fingers!!! Again, in my opinion this is a very safe place be because mgmt is on of everything.

Everything things from the cleanliness of the community to the friendliness and quality of care coming from the staff to the meals and dining, the different activities and the overall value has made it a great experience. We would recommend the Kincare community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.
