[name removed] was excellent and a representation of all the staff we interacted with at the facility. All the residents were friendly and welcoming. The units were all being rehabbed for new tenants and were a great size for an individual or a couple. The facility on the lake was a huge plus. Some of the interior is a bit dated but in good repair and well taken care of. I would move there without question.

Brookdale Lake Tavares seems to be well run. It is spacious, with lots of rooms (library, bingo/game area, outside areas, large dining room, laundry and more). The staff is knowledgeable, easy to talk to and takes ownership of tasks, even if it isn't theirs. The private rooms are well done and have windows in each area. Our visit was successful and pleasant.

It was a treasure to tour this property and learn more of what it offers. It is an older facility but maintained nicely and had many options for social gatherings, entertainment and pleasant surrounds to relax and 3nhoy. The view over the lake is peaceful and offers a nice walking path. The apartment offered had a view and was clean and nice sized rooms. The property manager was patient, informative and easy to talk with. The halls are a little narrow but residents took pride in their entry doors. Very pleasant environment. We did not stay for lunch but were given delicious cookies made in the kitchen. The cost was competitive and fair. The front entryway is plain and does not forecast the amenities within.

They are to short handed and I'm not sure no proof but my mother walked in just fine and day by day declined , didn't need a walker then started using one , started hallucinating! She just declined way to fast in my opinion and other residence made comments to the same effects of what was happening . Idk just felt something's not right.

The staff is terrific… Very caring and very attentive and very friendly. The property sits on a beautiful lake and the backyard area is a beautiful place to walk a dog or relax by the lake - meals have a variety of choices every day.

I would definitely recommend it to others. Mom isn't an easy one to please and she even talks highly of Brookdale Lakes. I think it's a great place! Mom may be getting to the point she won't be able to do assisted living in the not too distant future, but they treat her very well and it's a pretty homey place.

[name removed] fell [date removed] while sweeping, breaking his right femur. He should have asked for help so that is on him. He was assessed and returned to Brookdale as a 2 person assist after a stay at Edgewater Rehab. After his return, the money I put in his wallet for the beauty salon disappeared. He had 3 twenties and 5 ones and was left with 5 ones. We reported to the admin. He feels the need for a bit of cash, although there is nothing he needs nor anywhere to spend it. The $[removed]was replaced by $[removed] in smaller bills. Completely Gone the next day. They had transferred employees from the memory care facility and suddenly things disappeared from a good number of rooms. The admin said he had no way of finding out but maybe I should put in a camera. I did. On [date removed] I gave the 30 day notice that I would be moving him. On [date removed], a single person came in to take him to lunch. Mind you, he was only able to stand and pivot. She used the correct walker to get him changed and then put it in the closet and brought out the one that he was too unstable to use. She did get him upright but turns away to fetch the wheelchair and he went down, breaking the same femur, a couple inches lower. We come from a place where attorneys can not advertise and I admit to talking smack about them and all the folks sitting around hoping for a 3 million dollar payday. Anyway, I did call Morgan and Morgan. They told me the difficulties in suing a facility and the papers requiring arbitration I had signed. Also, the 33% they got and that we would have to pay back all hospital and Rehab costs incurred by Medicare and UHC. I am not looking for a big payday but this has cost us $[date removed]so far and I would like to cover that. M&M also said it would be hard to prove that they violated their own protocol and that there was a single person. Thanks to the admin that had since left, I have video clips. We are currently in the discovery phase. Just an FYI. [name removed] felt that the caregivers were pretty good, the food had gone downhill and that housekeeping was slacking. I had mentioned several times that the halls smelled where the big stains were and that the dirt and dead bugs had been in the stairwell since we came in October. [name removed] went to Lake Eustis rehab (formerly Bedrock) for his second round. They were awesome! Even with a wound closed with 52 staples, he left there able to walk short distances with a walker. And that is our story of Brookdale. 3 admins between [dates removed] is cause for concern. So far, we are loving [name removed] new home at [community removed]

Staff is friendly and helpful. Residents are happy. My mom’s apartment is lovely. Although my mom doesn’t partake in the group activities, the calendar is great and they have a nice variety of events for the residents. My mom has been there for 2 months now and likes it. We have no complaints so far.

I probably am not the best judge of the activities because my friend who is the resident, there has only taken advantage of the happy hour and not gone on any of the external trips or done any of the other activities at the facility. Brookdale Lake Tavares has a very Upbeat and positive vibe. The location is beautiful and serene and the lake gives it a very peaceful ambience. The staff make you feel like family and are very fun and friendly. And the apartments themselves are spacious with excellent storage space and the fact that my friend was able to bring his dog and his cat makes it really feel like home to him. in addition, the location is great and close to shopping, restaurants and medical facilities. After looking at several places, finding Brookdale Lake Tavares was like hitting the jackpot!

The facility is nice, very clean. The staff treat the residents like family. The rooms are big. Separate bedrooms from living areas and I small kitchen area. There are a variety of activities every day, from shopping excursions and lunch outings to activities in the facility like Bingo and cocktail hours. Dad gets the calendar every month and highlights the activities he intends to join.

Brookdale values their residents. It is evident in the kindness shown from the front desk, to the dining area staff, to the nurses, and management. They maintain communication with family members, and have professionally handled conflicts that have arisen between my mother and other residents - which are bound to happen. I am pleased that my mother is in a living situation that keeps her social, and all of her needs are met.

It's a beautiful place, but it didn't fulfill all the needs we had. She had issues that the staff were unable to handle. I think they need to be more up front. And just the entrance fee is too high. We told the facility but they could only do so much.
