I will tell what I have at Brookdale South Bay. Every holiday is very well celebrated. Decorations, events, magic shows, special daily outings. You name it. Appointments are also provided. With transportation just follow the appointment Rules which is only fair. Space space how else could they arrange it? I do attend whenever possible because it's always fun.

Excellent appearance. - clean, well appointed, nice decor. Friendly helpful staff. Good menu for meals, very large, varied activities, entertainment one of the best residences out of five toured so far.

Brookdale staff was wonderful to work with. My mom is very happy with her place, the activities and the food. It worked out very well for her.

Brookdale is nice. They have all the amenities that you would want, dining room, service for food 3x per day, transportation, cleaning once a week, library, art classes, TV room, no gym, no pool. ROOMS:The rooms are around 600 ft.² which is very small and seemed to be cut up by walls. However, the people who are running the place are really nice and very cordial. There’s a small kitchen area. No oven, but there is a stove top. A small refrigerator, also they said they could probably put it in a microwave for the counter. MEALS:They do have sugar-free cookies and ice cream for diabetic such as myself… that is important. I had fish for lunch. It was very tasty and the broccoli was cooked perfectly al dente. Servers are quick and very polite. Basically they’ll give you what you want to eat, but you do have two main choices prepared to choose from per meal. They do a wellcheck on you if you don’t come to two meals, they prefer you eat in the dining room.

I visited Brookdale with my Mother-in-Law since it is close to where I live. We didn't see many residents hanging out except for the few in the entryway. They were just sitting on the chairs and not engaging with each other. This place looked very dated, tired and worn out. The hallway carpet was old and the apartments need updating. I will be crossing it off our list.

Brookdale South Bay has been a great for my disabled mother. There is a third-party company that has caregivers who can meet my mother's needs. The staff at Brookdale is very friendly and helpful.

The meals and dining services gets a 5+. The food is wonderful. The residents are welcoming. The staff is helpful. I can tell that they really care about my Mom. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

My mother has resided at Brookdale since the beginning of May and it has been an utterly positive experience every step of the way from the initial contact and tour through now. My mother lived with us for almost 17 yrs, but came to a point where she needed a lot more care and a place with no steps. At the same time, she was diagnosed with a progressive, terminal lung disease and had to go on 24/7 oxygen. This was a lot for anyone to endure, let alone a very dependent 86-yr old person. She was so beside herself with anxiety and worry, but all the folks at Brookdale have been so caring and supportive as well as attentive to her from the folks at the front desk to the housekeeping and dining room staff and, most of all, her amazing daily caregivers. My mom tells everyone now how much she loves being at Brookdale. I cannot say enough about Brookdale —it is a 20 on a scale of one to ten. Every time I go to visit I thanks God we found this wonderful senior living facility.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. House keeping is good, but they are currently trying to hire more. The staff always contacts me if there are issues and all of them remember our names. The meals are great.

We looked all over Los Angeles for a place for my father-in-law and are so fortunate to have found this place! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facility and the grounds are clean and beautiful. The apartment he is in is bright, and everything is new and perfect. He just loves it there. The food is excellent (3 meals per day) and he can have guests dine with him. Could not recommend this place enough!

I was pleasantly surprised how great Brookdale is compared to some of the other communities I toured and saw. The activities that the residents have to choose from, is wonderful. My loved one feels at home already and has been here for a short amount of time. There are three meals a day served and the residents have choose of meals. My loved one is very pleased with the food, and it is very good from when I have eaten here.

This is a wonderful community and I would highly recommend it. The staff are very caring and very unusual compared to other facilities and their culture. My loved one did not participate in many activities however, there were activities going on.

Due to the fact that I moved in during the middle of the pandemic, I cannot give a totally objective review of my experience. I was warmly greeted by the "sunshine" residents that was it. More should be done to help a new resident to adjust. I do wish I had known ahead of time the number of residents who are "memory challenged", it might have affected my decisions/ The employees are OUTSTANDING!
