Lovely, clean and skilled home. If they have a vacancy...grab it!

We placed our mother here a few months ago as she was too vulnerable to be discharged home from hospital. We expected a difficult transition period as she has Alzheimer's and liked being in her home. But with the staff support, lovely surroundings and personal attention mom settled in very quickly. They even asked for list of foods she liked and disliked as she's not a great eater. Mom even asked us to promise we never move her and her final days spent there. I'm a retired nurse and can't fault the staff's care and intervention.... always knowing when advanced care is needed and calling an ambulance when appropriate. Mercy homes are privately owned and managed by a nurse so the quality and care are excellent. I especially appreciate the direct communication and involvement I have with her when it involves my mother's care. I do not live locally so she organizes face-to-face calls with mom and I which is medicine in itself. Thank you to all at Mercy Family Home (2).

About the facility

Located in a quiet section of Vancouver surrounded by the still beauty of Northwest foliage, you’ll be amazed by our inviting landscape and the fantastic services offered at our community. At Mercy Family Home, we’ve made sure that we were building a total care community that would offer high-class service at a price that’s exceedingly affordable – even making use of a sliding scale cost system. Our Community

Mercy Family Home may be one of the most comfortable retirement communities in the Vancouver area. Our grounds are inviting and modern while maintaining a traditional sense of style that our residents will recognize and appreciate. We have outdoor seating areas under our gorgeous gazebo where you can take a load off, read a book or a magazine, or relax with a friend or your beloved pet. You’ll notice that not only are staff members more than welcome to tend to our residents’ needs, but that this focused care translates to a high morale amongst those who call Mercy their home.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my mother and I thought the staff did a great job with the presentation. It is a very large home with lots of great amenities for the residents. Although I thought the house was very beautiful it was just very large and felt just like an assisted living facility. I was just looking for more of a small family home for my mother.

The Family Home owner was very pleasant to talk to, and answered all my questions, and then some. I was told what items I needed to supply. They have RNs on duty all the time, and this was a nice thing to know. They treat all the patients there with the care that the patients there need. I was very comfortable with the decision to put my Mom there.
