Good value, great food.
I moved here because I could not afford the assisted living facility that I was living in, however I had recovered from my illness enough to move to independent living. I know that some of the surroundings would be the different, boy was I surprised. Morada is so much better than where I was by a long shot. The food, servers, atmosphere, surroundings, and rooms are better than the assisted living I was at, for less than half the price. They also gave me a great move in package. Moving to Morada took a lot of of my plate financially, so I could work on my recovery.

We love our Lake Arlington family!!
Placed my dad there in 2023. We have experienced senior living with other family members, so are quite educated on the process. When looking for dad we didn't simply look for a pretty place or go solely off of online reviews. Our family has several clinical professionals in it, so when I say that we dug deep...we dug deep. Lake Arlington checked all of our boxes. We reviewed their State reviews and found that they had not had a single deficiency from the State of Texas. Lake Arlington was the only building we saw that had this achievement. But the true test was if dad would be happy, as he can be quite picky :) He loves it there and has made several friends. The staff are like family members. If you are considering senior living for your loved one, THIS is the place to be. Happy to be a part of that community.

Would recommend to anyone looking for assisted living
I moved my father into their assisted living in May of last year. My father was isolated at home and needed to be around people his age, he now enjoys going to the meals to chat with his friends. The care staff have been kind and patient with him and assist him with the things he is no longer able to do on his own. Their assisted living director has been there for 6 years, which was one of my top reasons for choosing this place. Many of the communities I toured had a high turn over.

Well my mom doesn't really participate in much except on Thursday they have someone come in and sing which she loves. The place is very clean and everyone is nice and accommodating. I won't be using assisted care there when it's time but that's another story.

Great for senior living
It is a larger senior independent living facility, so some of the rooms are quite a walk form the dining area and gathering places. Very few rooms come available on the first floor that are close to the dining room so your loved one should be quite mobile.

Beautiful facility
Staff very helpful and professional. First impressions, curb appeal of the facility and its location. They will see a big difference when compared to other places. Food is restaurant style, not buffet. Morada while slightly more expensive stood far above others we toured. Feel Mom is safe as well.

Beware - do not place a loved one here
Do not call them or go there, all they want is your money. They need to improve everything. They need to be honest with their residents before they sign on. Eliminate the 1 year contract. Call family back when they call with questions. Don't give the resident a studio when you specifically said mom only wants a 1 bedroom, not a studio apartment. Clean the room before the resident moves in. Don't charge for nursing services when the resident hasn't even moved in yet. I can go on and on. I talked to a couple of men that were sitting on the porch once about how they liked it. They didn't. Mostly complained about the staff. It's a horrible place.

Review for Morada Lake Arlington
I would say the facility is generally well-run and efficient, the staff always seems kind, courteous, and willing to help. The foood generally is of good quality, if a bit repetitive. The apartment shows its age, with appliances and fixtures that are somewhat worn. The internet/cable is very poor: it's by far our biggest complaint.

Review for Morada Lake Arlington
Lower ratings only due to "no place is perfect" and sometimes when you make a request it may take an extra minute for stuff to be taken care of. Not sure of reason, When you "renew" your living quarter contract they forget that "the extra" $ increase is sometimes a huge demand on the tenant and family on a social security budget.

My moms new place
When it comes to the quality of care, the housekeeping staff speaks no English. Also the do not do a good job cleaning the apt. For the meals and dining service it was a 4 but now it is a 2 - the new cook in kitchen food is terrible. It is a bit pricey for size of apartment. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

They had just done a lot of remodeling and replacing all the carpet so the community is very clean. The wait staff is really good with all the residents - they know them all by name and know their particular's. The cleaning service they offer is great as well and is very personable with the residents.

Morada Lake Arlington review
The staff lied to me about the room size our loved one was getting and did not return our calls. Our loved ones room was not cleaned before we schedule the move in. We did not find the staff to be friendly at all. Our loved one never ate a meal there because they had passed before the move in date. Our loved one was charged for services they never received. They also make you sign a one year contract which makes no sense or elderly people. I regret signing the contract.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Texas’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Texas’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored Morada Lake Arlington 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
