Highly recommended
Two of the med techs one called [name removed] the other one [name removed] were fantastic with mom. They were so attentive and spoke to her like she was their mom. The chef and women that worked in the dining room were good to her and very helpful. Mom was only there from Feb 6-March 15 then passed away. But would definitely recommend the home

Mount Vernon of South Park
I have detailed instructions regarding my sister in law that I placed there for respite care
They weren't followed.
She didn't shower for 10 days, I told them she didn't eat oatmeal for breakfast, they gave it to her each day, because the other ladies at her table had it, she had a recliner in her room, another resident seen it and wanted it so they took it out of her room and gave it to them. Didn't replace it so her only place to sit was her bed
Because she hadn't showered for 10 days and hadn't changed underclothing half the time, she came home with a UTI and a bad cold
The tv service went out on Saturday and Monday it was still out.
I thought being a small place and only at less than half capacity, and with the greetings and overall staff attention she would have had fabulous care. However I was very disappointed to say the least
The place in itself is very clean and well taken care of
But I wasn't pleased in the care that she received.
When we left it was right after dinner time and there was no one at the front, so anyone could have walked in or out
I hate to say but based upon that experience I cannot recommend it as a place to place your loved one. Hopefully the next person will have a better experience.
I did make them aware of how dissatisfied I was they did say sorry but nothing else.
Then 2 days later I called again to tell them of the UTI, because of the lack of them not having her shower. Had to leave a message about that and no one responded to me

At our community, we pride ourselves on providing compassionate, individualized care and creating an environment where residents and families feel supported, respected, and valued. Based on the concerns you've shared, it is clear that your experience did not reflect the standard we strive to uphold every day. I understand how concerning it must have been to feel that your sister-in-law's personal preferences, comfort, and care needs were not met. I am equally troubled to hear that you felt your follow-up concerns were not adequately addressed. Every family deserves to feel heard, and for that, I sincerely apologize. I appreciate your recognition of our clean environment and the kindness of our team members. However, I also recognize that these positives do not outweigh the concerns you experienced during your loved one's stay.
Because resident privacy prevents us from discussing specific details publicly, I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly and learn more about what occurred. Feedback such as yours is important to us and helps us identify opportunities to improve the care and service we provide.

My loved one was only there a couple of months. I would recommend this community.
They did the best in providing gluten free meals.
The room was ok, I believe the furniture could be updated.
They did have activities such as entertainment coming in for the residents.

Definitely a Place to Consider
The community is wonderful. The communication between the staff and families is wonderful.
They have set up a way to communicate with our loved ones due to the pandemic.
The staff has been more attentive to the issues of my loved one. If there is a concern they call me and we discuss it.
They even set us up with the VA assistance due to the loved one having a spouse that was former military.
I feel like there is a peace of mind at this community for my loved one.
This is a smaller community, than the previous one my loved one as it.

Facility is a little older, but seemed clean and well staffed. No private rooms at all in memory care. Personal care/assisted living does not really have appartments. They are basically a bedroom with a powder room - they do not even have private showers in the personal care rooms. My dad is fairly independent and this would not work for him. Dining room/meals were good - restaurant style and dining room is open all day from 7am to 6pm.

Its very nice and very well kept. My dad is enjoying it here. They are a little bit short of staff but they're working on it. I would recommend the Mount Vernon of South Park to anyone looking for a great community.

Mixed experience
We have had a very mixed experience with Mount Vernon of South Park. The place itself is not bad, for the most part it is clean and well kept, and the staff are friendly. However, during the sales process they made promises about the sort of services they offer, and those have not been delivered on. And I have heard the same complaint from other families I have spoken with with relatives here. As an example, they said they would help get my loved one ready for bed, but it turns out this isn't something they do. They also have a very high degree of staff turnover (which included the sales person who made these promises to us.)

Everything isn't perfect, but I am very happy here.
Everything isn't perfect, but I am very happy here. They have been able to keep my parents together, even with their different needs. My dad is up and walking around and doing activities. They are taking good care of my mom, with all of her special needs. I can go home and sleep at night knowing they are safe and well cared for.

Very nice community
They're doing a great job at Mount Vernon of South Park! It's a nice looking, clean community, and all of the staff are very friendly. They really went above and beyond taking care of our loved one. They kept a close eye on her 24 hours a day, and put a lot of effort into making sure she was comfortable.

Doing ok but could be more attentive.
I have asked them to do certain things, like check on my loved one every two hours, because they are used to being more independent. This doesn't seem to be happening and they aren't as attentive as they could be, or as I would like them to be. The food is ok, but the portions are smaller than our loved one would like. I like the idea that they play old time music all day long. I also like the security, when you come in they have an alarm on the door so they know someone came in and you have to let someone know if you leave after 8:00. They also have a huge courtyard with a barbeque and a fountain, it's very serene.

More wonderful than can be imagined
We had to move my husband from a facility he'd been at for a year and a half. We consistently had issues with the property that had just finally came to a head. We had seen the adverts for A place for Mom many times, and finally took advantage of that wonderful service. Our representative spent good, quality time talking and later emailing facilities that fit our needs. Because of the distance, we hadn't even considered Mt. Vernon of South Park... it was a bit out of the way, but a virtual tour stole our hearts. It was absolutely georgeous inside and out. Yet, we still decided to trek to 3 other properties just to make sure and NONE of them were as good as Mt. Vernon.... in all areas.
We planed to move my husband 3 weeks down the road, but the upper level staff at his current facility started playing games once they knew we were intending to leave. We called Mt. Vernon and in the space of 48 hours, we had my husband in!!! It was an absolute miracle! The staff from the dining folks to the nurses and maintenance director were friendly and BEYOND accommodating. My husband is finally getting the exercise and activities he never had before. He feels safe in his own room, and the safety has effected his thought processes for the better!

i have toured other places and decide...
i have toured other places and decided on this one. It is all one level, so no elevators to navigate. lots of activities. great staff knows everyone by name, they will do as much or as little as you need them to do. my grandmother really enjoys being there.
