lovely smaller facility with friendly wonderful staff

The care staff are super lovely and supportive. If grandma doesn't want to do an activity they will still bring her the snack they were having with activities and some for me too The food kinda reminds me of like college meal plan food but grandma seems to be eating so I think overall it's good. But I think I'll bring us some special treats from time to time. I wish I could visit earlier in the morning before work but afternoons are ok If the apartment were just a bit bigger it would be nice but it's a solid choice overall If the doors to the garden area opened automatically the place would be absolutely perfect

Small and personable

I love that the facility is small and intimate. Easy for the residents to get to know each other. And easy for this staff to know each resident. [name removed] , the executive director, is the best! She knows and cares about each resident. She makes each resident feel loved and gives lots of hugs! She listens well and is quick to handle any issues that arise. Each resident receives the individual care that they need. Parsons House is like home. I love visiting my mom, who has been there for almost a year. I always feel welcome and included. There are monthly fun family events, such as game night, ice cream night, and holiday sit down dinners. Three adjectives I would use to describe Parsons House: love, personal, warm.

A great home for my loved one

The staff that I interact with are typically med techs bringing her medicine. But everyone is very kind and polite. Aunt [name removed] chooses not to attend any of the activities, but I love reading on the board in the main room all the fun activities that are planned for the residents. I don't think Lou ever goes to the dining room to eat, I think she stays in her room and they make her a grilled cheese sandwich every day. But I've seen the menu and it looks great. I know the techs and nurses have taken good care of her and I feel comfortable with having her there. Even if she is a grumpy lady that yells at everyone and doesn't make friends or participate!

Parsons House is exceptional!

I'm not sure we could have found a better place for my mother-in-law. The staff is especially caring and attentive, food is very good, they do so many things to keep the residents engaged and as active as possible and there is a sincere family atmosphere. In house physical and occupational therapists, nurse practitioner that comes regularly are things you don't find most places. And mom thinks it is wonderful!

I feel the love

When we first toured Parsons we felt loved and cared for by the staff. Now that our loved one is a resident she is well cared for. She doesn’t yet feel up to socializing with the other residents but I hope she leaves her room and participates in activities soon. The staff is all amazing and we continue to feel loved.

A great place to live

My dad has been at the Parsons House for 4 1/2 years. The Parsons House is a small and warm community that works hard to reach each residents individual needs. The residents have many opportunities to be involved and to get to know each other. Activities, games, educational meetings, gardening, walks, excursions and more are available. For the residents. The residents families are included and invited to participate in the community . The Parsons House has been a blessing to our family.

Family Feeling and Friendly

I've lived at Parsons House for 8 years and have had a good family experience. It has a lower population and is more one on one.. There are activities from games, restaurants and shopping to participate in and friendly staff.

The best Dining experience

Chef [name removed] truly is the best chef the food is not only fresh and innovative but he really takes the time to hear the residents. No matter what he always takes what they want into consideration weather its making Flan or amorosa salad he loves to see the smiles on their faces. The food is absolutely delicious and he prides his self on putting the food out in front of you hot and garnished.

They treat the residents with respect and are very caring. My loved one enjoys the activities. They keep her busy with bingo, their walking club, memory games, coordination games like balloon volleyball and tea parties just to name a few. They have holiday parties for the residents as well.

Would Definitely Recommend

I would recommend them. The staff are very caring. Probably the biggest problem that we've had is medication management. With the pharmacy that they use, our loved one's medications are more expensive than they were at the pharmacy we used previously. And when medications change, they require paperwork from the doctor. Sometimes the doctors are not very responsive, and while that's not Parson's fault, changes don't happen as quickly as they need to because of the paperwork aspect. Upper management has had some turnover as well, which was concerning at first. But in some cases, the replacements have been better than the people who were there to start with. I will say it's a smaller place, so the residents don't get lost. It's private. It's in a great location that feels like it's in the country, with lots of trees all around. My love done doesn't care for the food, but she can be kind of picky. They do have quite a lot of activities going on every week.

Would not recommend

the activities were pretty good within the constraints they had to follow, they had a really nice activities director. In the beginning the meals were fantastic, but then they fired their head chef and the meals quickly declined after. There was a serious incident that happened with our loved one and the care staff team did not handle it well.
