Facilities are great, always clean so that's great. As far as staff , they have a turnover rate and that hurts residents when it comes to trusting who's taking care of their needs. The long time staff members are great it's the turnover rates with the aides that's bothersome. Sorry if that

Review for Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley
Food-heavy carbs, light protein, very little fresh. Frequently no napkins or flatware (plastic). Staff was generally pleasant. Activities staff very enthusiastic, but limited activities for someone like my husband with limited capabilities. The TV programs during the evening hours did not seem appropriate-extreme violence, profanity, etc. The room was ok. Generally the unit could be cleaner. Dark and depressing hallways.

Rittenhouse Village Lehigh Valley-Shame On You!
Constant excuses are made for staff failures in following medical directions for residents care. Some attendants and med techs decide not to do what they are instructed to, and then take retribution when complaints are made. Mouth watering culinary, a joke! Don't get sucked in by their marketing. It's all a bunch of crap. They're best at deflecting and placing blame on residents and take no ownership of their own shortcomings and weaknesses. Shameful. The executives and management should trade places for a day and see how much they like the treatment residents get. Let them eat the atrocious slop served three times a day. A few staff are caring and attentive, but overall the place deserves a grade of C, at best!

Peace of mind
5 across the board. Love the staff members very caring of my mother in law who lives there but also my father in law who visits and has dinner with her daily. He raves about the food. Gloria doesn't really participate much but they always have her there during activities giving her the chance if she wants. I am an RN myself and hear plenty of horror stories about instances in nursing facilities and I can say with 100 % confidence I trust them!! Perfect example for you. This AM, [name removed] said she fell staff didn't witness this they were wonderful called me right away gave me info had called an ambulance and was taken to er. She is fine by the way. But the point being on top of things always compassionate and believe in their residents.

Not recommended
My loved one was previously a resident at Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley and the experience at this facility was terrible. They had one problem after another with the aging building and also with the van. They were short staffed and on the weekend it was worse. While my loved one was at Rittenhouse, things started falling apart. The chef quit and for a time the aides were doing some of the cooking. The hairdresser quit and then they tried busing residents to the Beauty school. At one point, the van broke and there was no one to take the residents to doctors appointments. The kitchen range stopped working at one point in the winter and the kitchen staff was cooking meals outside-in the winter-on the grill. What else. At one point, the building lost hot water for a few days. Imagine taking care of residents and washing hands in cold water. There also was a gas leak for a couple days and that was shut off. It was an old building and van, and I don't think they had the money to maintain the infrastructure. I would not recommend Rittenhouse to anyone.

Needs improvement
We think an area the Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley community could improve on would be keeping the residents especially memory care residents active. We never saw anyone doing any sort of activities.

We had a very good tour at Rittenhouse Village. It was just out of our price range. But I liked the whole look of the place. It was very clean and very upbeat. And I thought the dining room looked nice.

Would Recommend
It's not a large community. In general, I think the openness and friendliness of the community, meeting other residents, and the staff encouraging interaction has all been good. My loved one is currently seeing the house doctor, and the care has been satisfactory, along with their nursing staff, med tech, and any contracted people they bring in. The facility has been updated, and cleanliness is good. It could use maybe one or tow more extracurricular rooms. I like the location - it's close to the hospital. And I like that the residents can sit outside and watch the birds by the birdfeeders with no traffic around them. It's a nice backdrop.

Tour experience
Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley was my first choice, I wanted my loved one to go here BADLY. Unfortunately they were unable to take him because of his mental status at the time. It is an absolutely beautiful facility, I would have moved here myself it was that nice. It is a little on the pricier side.

A small facility, but they are following larger corporate dictates, which are impacting pricing.
For any community, find out what their criteria is for each level of care and what the process is for making the assessment as to what level the resident belongs in. Because that impacts how much you'll pay at the facility. Rittenhouse just changed their criteria, and that has increased the price. Activities are average - my loved wishes there wasn't so much Bingo. But the staff is friendly, helpful, and fairly responsive. The facility is open and airy, and doesn't smell. It's hard to judge outdoor experiences yet since he's only been there during winter months.

Our Tour Experience
We actually came here a few times, and it was one of our top choices. It was a nice facility, with a nice dining area. There seemed to be lots of staff, and we met with a few of them. We chose a different community, but if we end up moving our loved one, Rittenhouse Village is still top of mind.

My sister and I enjoyed this tour. The facility was clean, the rooms are all being renovated which was really nice to see. We enjoyed the fact that we saw a lot of the residents out and about, playing bingo and word games. The staff was very friendly. It was a very upbeat community and we enjoyed that the most. [Name removed] did a great job answering all of our questions and giving us the tour.
