Mediocre
Food, and facility itself is nice, but they're not very good with communication. Emails and calls go unanswered. It's just ok, not great...not terrible

The Canopy
The staff is kind, loving, gentle and attentive and they participate in the many celebrations and parties they have there. The price is all inclusive and includes toileting and showering assistance if necessary, every 2 hours check-in if necessary, excellent food, and a lanyard with a button that when pressed will bring someone within about 3 to 8 minutes. My mom really likes it there. She's says she has been to more parties than ever before. She would definitely complain if she was unhappy, but she doesn't complain at all about The Canopy.

The Canopy was my mother’s home for the past 12 months, and our family could not have been more pleased with her experience. She was truly happy there, which meant everything to us. The dining program is outstanding, with consistently high-quality food, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. The caregivers and staff are incredibly compassionate, thoughtful, and attentive. During difficult moments, they showed genuine empathy and support, which meant so much to our family. The entire community is modern, beautifully maintained, and clearly designed with residents’ comfort in mind. Small details also make a big difference. Packages are delivered directly to residents’ apartments, and meal delivery is available when needed. There is always a wide variety of activities to keep residents engaged, and the holiday décor throughout the dining and reception areas is tasteful and festive.

My uncle was there 3 months before he passed. The facility was brand new and just opened. I'd rate it 5 on all categories for the duration of our stay. My uncle spent almost 7 years in memory care facilities. If anyone asked me which of the two facilities I would select given the choice today, it would be Canopy. The shift to Canopy was a breath of fresh air. Like other places, they did have some staffing challenges. But, given the smaller resident population it didn't seem to be a problem. Canopy's food was very good. That made a big impression on us. One of the things I liked most about Canopy was the management structure. It was very easy to talk to decision makers and get things addressed. We also had a GREAT experience with Canopy's recommended hospice provider. The integrated seamlessly with staff and did a fabulous job.

My experience at the Canopy of Beacon Woods Memory Unit has been truly outstanding. From the very beginning, it has been clear that this is a facility designed not just for safety, but for compassion, dignity, and meaningful engagement for residents living with memory loss. The staff are incredibly patient, attentive, and specifically trained to meet the unique needs of individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's. They take the time to connect with each resident on a personal level, using gentle communication, reassurance, and genuine care that makes all the difference. As a family member, I have always felt supported, informed, and confident that my loved one is in capable and loving hands. The Memory Unit itself is warm, secure, and thoughtfully designed to reduce anxiety while promoting independence as much as possible. The activities are well-suited for cognitive stimulation and emotional well-being.

We toured the canopy for my dad after months of searching for the right place for him to call home. For the first time in this journey, we feel we have found the right community. From the Executive Director to the housekeeping staff, everyone welcomed us with genuine smiles and kindness. We toured during an activity, and my dad especially loved the idea of happy hour and snacks. The community felt warm and inviting, and we never felt rushed during our visit. It was clear to see the compassion the caregivers have for the residents.

Members of the staff did not speak English to the patients. It was very confusing to them. I would not recommend this facility for those looking for memory care.

This assisted living community is really spectacular! [name removed] ( Executive Director ) leads with so much care, [name removed]( Wellness Director ) is very dedicated to residents health and well being, and [name removed]( Marketing Director ) is so very helpful to families. [name removed] and the Care team keep activities fun and engaging, and the warm welcome at the front desk makes everyone feel so welcome. Truly a place where residents are cared for like family!

The newness and size of the facility. Also its proximity to where I live as I visit every day were the main reasons we chose The Canopy at Beacon Woods. The people are very kind and helpful towards the residents.

The Canopy has been wonderful from the very first day I toured the facility for my husband. [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and every care partner I’ve met have been so kind and supportive. It’s never easy to place a loved one in a care facility, but when you reach the point where you can’t do it alone, it’s truly a blessing to find a family-friendly community with compassionate staff—from administration to food service (special thanks to [name removed]!). We’re so happy we chose The Canopy!

The staff has been so supportive and welcoming. [name removed], marketing director has such a positive attitude that it's contagious. She continues her friendly care after becoming a resident. Every staff member I have met has been gracious with smiles ,care and support. My mom has become involved with activities and made friends. When I visit she always comments on how nice everyone is , the good food and how clean it is.

My parents have been living at the canopy since they opened, and it has been a wonderful experience. The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and continuously being updated. They make a strong effort to provide regular activities for residents, often including families as well. The staff truly stand out. They are some of the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met. When you trust others with the care of your parents, you quickly learn what kind of people they are and this team has earned my deepest appreciation. From the front office to the back, they put their hearts into caring for my mom and dad. Of course, nothing is perfect and people are human, but in my experience this is a top-notch facility filled with people who genuinely care. They take the time to listen to my concerns, work with me, and offer solutions, treating us more like family than anything else. I believe each family’s experience may depend somewhat on the abilities of the resident and the level of i

My mother moved in just a few weeks ago, and it’s already starting to feel like home. The staff have been incredibly welcoming and always take the time to listen. My sister and I have been visiting day and night to help her adjust, and it’s been comforting to see how kind and capable everyone is. I truly feel confident that she’s in good hands. The food is delicious, and there are always fun activities and entertainment to keep the residents engaged. What really touched us is how even the other residents have been checking in to see how my mom is doing. It’s clear we made the right decision, and we’re so grateful.

My grandma lives at the community and loves it there. I visit her quite often and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Their family events are also a lot of fun! I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a place. They were just voted best in Hudson.

This community isn’t perfect. No place is, but it comes pretty close! The staff are so welcoming, positive, and always ready to listen and help with any concerns. The care staff responds to call buttons quickly and you can tell they care. Residents are consistently treated with genuine kindness. Any issues that come up are resolved quickly. On top of that, the landscaping and decor are truly beautiful, making this one of the most stunning communities in the area. [name removed] is amazing and so is the new executive director.

I gave that rating because most of the employees are fantastic! They promised me that my mom would be ok , that the process takes a few weeks after her arrival. Believe me there were plenty of hiccups during that time. But one employee really stood out and came through for my mom . Her name is [name removed]( my savior) she is only in sales / marketing but she handles so much more. I have already told your competitors the reason I picked the Canopy was due to the place was new and they have [name removed]. She went far above her job to make my mom feel at home at her new residence. [name removed] will forever be in my heart.

The room was not kept sufficiently clean, missing garments, not enough social activity. Also, they've been through (3) Directors of Nursing in a short amount of time. Not very encouraging.

I would rate them 5 on all counts. We moved him from Vitality - Bayonet Point to Canopy. Canopy was an upgrade in all categories. My uncle passed away at the end of March, otherwise he'd still be there because we were very pleased with the overall experience. Facility-wise: I liked the openness. It felt more resort-like than facility-like. My uncle was in memory care. I really liked the setup there where the nurse's station is the right inside the memory-care entrance and faces the common areas + dining room. Smart design in my opinion. Staff-wise: I really liked the accessibility of management. There weren't multiple layers to go through. I was able to discuss concerns with decision makers and get things done quickly. This was a BIG difference from my experience with other places.

They are very understaffed in the memory care unit and they have very little activities for the residents.

The process for getting a place for our parents was easy and the staff has been very supportive. They are settling in well, though this took longer than expected. Communication from the staff is also excellent.
