A Far Away Land
I recently moved my dad into The Hearth and Greenpoint and it was such an easy and informative experience. I live eight hours away and [name removed], Director of Sales, helped me with every step to make sure the transition was smooth and my dad had the support he needed. Not only did they allow me to have furniture delivered prior to his move-in date, but they helped arrange trnasport for him from his medical rehabilitation facility to The Hearth. His move would not have been possible without [name removed]and her amazing staff. My dad has been thrilled with everything at the facility. He thoroughly enjoys the residents, the staff, the food, all of it. He feels AT HOME which is incredibly important after the whirlwind month and a half he had following a medical incident. I feel like I have a whole support staff at my disposal and they have been very responsive to my emails. He was able to get a primary care check-up within the first month as well! Bravo to [name removed], [name removed], and the entire Greenpoint staff.

Friendly staff, a nice variety of activities (although mom has only participated in a couple). Apartment is small, but sufficient. Generally the facility is clean and cared for, but the apartment was not clean-move-in-ready when we received the keys.

They are doing what they say they will do....the food/dining experience isn't the best...food is mostly bland, but there are exceptions, just average fare. I would recommend it. compared to other places I visited my family is happy with the place. Its not perfect, but the staff is nice, helpful, and accessible....its a big place, easy for newcomers to get turned around. Every hallway looks the same....but there are always things to do, entertainment, options for peer engagement if you want to....

Good resource for moving Mom to senior living home
APFM was a good starting point for an entirely new experience for me and my family. I would recommend as I also appreciated the articles on again, clearing out a family home and living with your aging parents

I would give it 5 stars. It is very clean, lots of activities, rides to stores, food seems to be pretty good. I think my mother would probably give it a 4. If you don't like what is on the menu for that day, they will make you an alternative. Several levels of care taking their as well. You can do your own laundry or have it done for you. My mother has made many new friends.

our family's experience; would recommend.
Based on my experience and that of my brother who now resides there. Best apartment sizes that i found...wanted two bedrooms. Some glitches during first weeks (lost meds that were delivered, laundry not picked up during first two weeks, apartment had some maintenance issues not fixed prior to move in, but most issues have since been addressed. Staff is responsive, pleasant, and helpful. Environment is nice, residential are freindly and seem happy there. Its a big place and hotel like, so easy to get disoriented at first. Prices are competitive. Apartment space is the big plus. Activities are plentiful. Food is decent, but service can be slow.

Both staff and residents smiled and greeted us. Rooms are clean and of a good size. We like that we were able to see empty units and an occupied unit. We were able to visit with a resident and know some people who are happy there. My mom is looking forward to moving in next spring.

Love this place
My mother lived at The Hearth, unfortunately for a short period of time because her memory loss escalated to a point where she had to be moved. However, in that short period of time, I have totally grown to love this place. The staff is wonderful and caring and helpful. The apartments are extremely comfortable and homey. It is safe. The dining room is spacious and clean and the food is pretty darn good. I like the fact that they allow guests to dine there as well. There are activities in the building, which could be improved slightly, especially for those who enjoy more challenging activities. There are many places to go in the building if one chooses to be out of their apartments. And there are also buses for traveling options. My only possible complaint would be that the custodial staff seems to be terribly overworked. If you need something fixed, they will come in and do it, but sometimes it takes a great deal of time. It is a good value for the money.

In all, I would recommend them
They appear to be short-staffed as is common these days. Also, they can administer meds but do not change bandages for the residents, which seems out of line to me. Apts are nice and roomy and location is good .

My Perspective on One Senior Living Residence
Staff is not trained to work with visually impaired residents - disrespectful to the residents, loud and spent time on phone talking to boyfriends and children, rude to family members and guests. Food was very good from September to January, but after the new owners took over, the food was noticeably skimpy and poorly prepared. The nurse was seldom available and the Case Manager was disinterested when asked for help. Patient was transported to hospital and left in ER with no assistance.

For now, I am happy with my life at Greenpoint. The facility's common areas are cleaned often and the residents are serviced every week by housekeeping staff. The great majority of the residents are friendly and the staff are friendly and very welling to help. I am a independent resident and do not use care services. But, those that do that I associate with seldom complain. [name removed] has purchased Greenpoint so were we are in a transition period and there are many new people and some problems. So far things are moving along but, and problems are taking longer to get resolved but they do get fixed. We have a new Director that has been here about a month, she is well qualified and commutations has improved considerably. In addition to the transitions, many new residents have come to Greenpoint in the passed four months. Meal times have increased for a while now they improving as the service staff increases. Meals are adequate and there are many choices. I feel the cost is a little high verses the services I get and the new owner has immediately raised the rent. I will wait and see.

Caring people
Everyone at Greenpoint has been very welcoming and helpful to Mom in this transition. With the recent passing of my father they have all been there supporting and understanding. Also, with a recent purchase of Greenpoint. There have been some transitional issues, but the staff has been very upfront with notifications of different things such as phone lines, repairs, etc

Hearth at Greenpoint
My loved one was only at The Hearth at Greenpoint for 3 days before she fell and broke her foot. She had to go for PT. I simply cannot say enough about the food that they served back then. Fantastic homemade soups, etc. If families are dealing with seniors that don't eat well, I believe Greenpoint's meals would entice them to eat. But remember, my experience is 2-3 years ago.

My Green Point Experience
I have been at Green Point for a month. So far it has been a very good experience. The food is good and the people are very helpful and friendly. There's many activities available. I have not joined in yet, I'm still getting settled, but will soon. I still drive so I have not taken advantage of the transport service, but others speak highly of them.
