Nice community for my aging parent
If eel like she doesn't need a lot of care but they seem very nice when I'm there. Our loved one wont participate in the activities. It is a lot of money for taking her to the bathroom, bringing meals, and coffee, hospice does a lot. After my experience with everything, yes I would recommend this community to other families

Very Impressed
It's been a few years since I had toured the community, but since my last tour I am very impressed with the new Management team and department heads of the community. Several different layouts to select from for your loved one with two beautiful courtyards residents have access to anytime. I am very impressed with the recent changes and am excited to recommend The Rawlin at Riverbend Memory Care to Family and Friends in need of senior living.

Do Not recommend
It appeared they were short staffed a lot, which I was told should NEVER be the case because they have resources for staff.
You are supposed to have 24hr access to your loved one however, there was more than one instance where after the receptionist went home, no one came to the door when someone (including my mom's hospice nurse) came to see her.
My mom fell a lot, and there did not seem to be a plan for how to prevent her falls. Again, on more that one occasion I was told, "we went into your mom's room and found her one the floor." One of those times, she had his her head.
Lots of excuses but no solutions.
I could go on but I would recommend contacting the Deputy State Long-Term Care Ombudsman before continuing to recommend The Rawlin.

Responsible and friendly staff
The Rawlin at Riverbend Memory care provides a lot of daily activities for residents. The staff contacts family to report out-of-the-norm behavior of the resident. Staff is friendly and supportive of the residents and family is always welcome to visit. Staff appears to be well trained in working with folks who have cognitive deficits and memory issues.

I would say, at first it seemed ok however; the amount per month for what is provided was outrageous. I would then tell my friend to look elsewhere because things went downhill, room cleanliness, missing personal items, missing clothing, finding my loved one dressed in clothing other than his, poor quality meals and other concerns.

This community has been wonderful. My loved one is in the memory care unit there. They watch her carefully in this community. My loved one tries to escape, and they are very good with her. They recognize my loved one's signs and are great with her.
Prior to COVID, The Rawlin had daily activities.

The management is wonderful but they are severely understaffed and they don't have enough individual time for the residents.
Room sizes are good you might have to share a room but there is still enough space.
My loved one is not fond of the food.
I would not recommend this community, it too expensive with not enough effort.

Top Notch
My loved one is very happy at The Rawlin. The community is brand new and I really like the way it's laid out. It has a main are where you enter the community, and then every wing of the facility is a "neighborhood," which makes it much easier for my loved one to find her way around. The food here is top notch, and the facility is kept very clean. They have a lot of activities to keep the residents stimulated and engaged such as puzzles, games, and live entertainment. The staff here is also excellent. They really seem to be hiring the right people here because they really go out of their way to show they respect the residents, they are super nice, they stay on top of things, and they check on residents regularly. I would absolutely recommend The Rawlin to others.

Keeping Very Busy
My mom is doing very well here. We try and get there at least twice a week to visit. She has been doing exercise classes and the staff is always having the residents participating in fun games. The community is so clean and very well maintained much better than any of the others we had seen. The staff is wonderful very kind and welcoming and friendly. The food is very good here.

I liked this place a lot!!
I have no complaints about how things went for my loved one and I during our tour of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to accommodate our needs to the best of there ability. They had a very clean facility with lots of great amenities available to all of the residents which I was impressed with. It was just not the right fit in the end decision.
