American House itself is great! But the Medical team is absolutely horrible. If your loved one is on meds and they live here , make sure there is family to watch and follow up on making sure their meds are given and refills are sent on time , and the meds are being given at the correct dosage.

As part of the Hidden Hamlet in Roseville, Michigan, American House East I is ideally situated near family, friends, shopping, and familiar medical professionals. They are also close to many hospitals, including Ascension St. John, Henry Ford, and Beaumont Grosse Pointe. This community is designed to resemble a Belgian castle and provides independent living with additional services.
The apartments range from studios to two-bedrooms. All units include living areas, kitchens, and private baths. Many apartments even overlook the immaculately landscaped grounds. This community has a chapel, a library, an exercise room, a computer area, a potting room for plants, a woodworking shop, a pottery workshop with a kiln, a billiards room, and a game room. Meanwhile, the relaxing lounges and common areas feature a grand piano, fireplaces, a big-screen TV, and other amenities.
American House East I has a life enrichment director who plans various cultural, social, and recreational activities and trips. Residents can also enjoy services like scheduled transportation, laundry, and housekeeping. The house keepers that do light cleaning aren't the best. Bathroom floor is always sticky. The flooring in the kitchen, and sitting area is done poorly. The washer and dryers are the worst. They need new ones. Also, the kitchen staff keep using the washer and dryers when it's supposed to be for residents only. Also, the facility seems to smell like urine every day.

I had recently had surgery, and they graciously provided a wheelchair for me for my tour. The place is bigger than I expected, but neat as a pin, and very well organized. Decor was pleasant, and the furnishings comfortable in the common areas. When passing through the dining area, kitchen staff was heard talking with each other pleasantly.

American House East I (AH) director, managerial staff, employees are extremely nice and efficient. They were so helpful and the facility gives a traditional feeling/old world look. Dining facility and food are good and cooking staff are polite. AH activities are plentiful for residents and certain anyone could be happy living here. Apartments were the size needed for seniors. My family chose AH for my elderly mother for an independent living life but also have the possibility of additional assisted living services when required. AH was also the most economical in value we found. Out of the three senior communities reviewed, we stopped looking when we found AH.

Our family recently moved our mother into American House. The staff and residents were very welcoming and put her at ease with this transition. We couldn’t be happier that mom is comfortable and happy in her new home.

The staff and corporate staff are very cooperative with handling problems. A one bedroom apartment is about 500 square feet.

Everyone was friendly and helpful to each other. The food was very good and affordable to guests. My father loved when I joined him for a meal. And he loved the food, tasty and good variety. He loved the music entertainment that was provided.

Before the move American House did an assessment using AdvisaCare on my mothers abilities to live alone. They discussed options of care and costs. With this knowledge we knew there were options for care if she needed them. We decided to purchase the initial option to give special attention for the transition. This included escorts, meal companionship, 45 minutes small assistance, and wellness checks. This proved very helpful for her getting acclimated to her new surroundings. Currently she does not need the daily services AdvisaCare provides. Their were no issues moving furniture and items with the help of family. My mother has adapted well, meeting new friends and sharing the activities with them. American House East 1 has a chapel. She attends daily rosary with her group and mass when scheduled.

What we like the most about American House East is that they do a lot of stuff with the residents. I would say the food needs to be a upgrade. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

I think that the food supervisor could adjust the food usage because sometimes they run out of food. Please make sure the staff does weekly house cleaning consistently. Please make sure that residents concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

Everything about American House East 1 has been great! One thing I really like about this community is somethings its pretty quiet around here. Based on the experience I have with with this community I have already recommended them to other families.

The staff was great. Everyone from housekeeping to the additional services. Everyone was always smiling and helpful. Mom had pretty low hunger and we had breakfast and dinner delivered. She went to the dining room for lunch. She'd send me home with the left overs and they were quite good. I highly recommend this facility. In fact, I'll probably end up there when I need assisted living.

My dad was previously a resident at American House East 1. He liked it there. The facility is very homey feeling. The food was excellent. Ultimately, we ended up having to move him to an Assisted Living Facility due to him needing more care. AH East 1 called me a few days ago because they knew where my dad was going. They wanted to make sure he and I were okay. That is going above and beyond. So appreciated.

They are very Friendly and if they can't answer a question for you , they will direct to the appropriate person. The Shared rooms ( two people)is very roomy as well as the single rooms.

When it comes to the activities at the community, they are not the best. Maybe the residents are too sick to participate. There are so many possibilities! But there seems to be not too much happening on any given day. They could also have more of a resident round up.

My loved one loves the food. It is reasonable and affordable for my familiy. We picked this community becasue of the location and the ability for my loved to not have a roommate. She loves it. I would give them a good recommendation.

They were exceptional at every thing they did. It's a great community and I'd move in myself when the time comes. We picked this community because, of the cleanliness and list of included services. Staff friendliness when I toured. Comments from a resident I met in the parking lot when I was unescorted. I would recommend to others.
