Orchard Hill is family-owned and operated and is smaller than the other assisted living facilities we checked out, all of which makes it feel much more intimate and comfortable. It's located on beautifully landscaped grounds with an apple orchard (hence the name). The staff members are incredibly caring and responsive, and some of them truly feel like family. The food is very good and there is a wide range of activities. My mother was recently hospitalized and in rehab for an extended period after she fell and broke her hip. She couldn't wait to get back to Orchard Hill, and when she returned the residents and staff gave her a surprise party, which really sums up for me how caring the community is there.
