Great facility

I recently visited my uncle, and he's been doing well here. He seems happy and comfortable, and that's really what matters to us. Whenever I stop by, he's doing well and doesn't have anything bad to say. The staff has been nice and helpful too.

Peace of mind

The amenities are great, but she doesn't get the same food that the cafeteria gets with her Styrofoam boxes that's all It's clean the staff is great. They're very attentive. I would recommend it to anybody. I feel safe with my mother being there.

Thankful for the care

My uncle has been here for a while now. He has had an incredible difference since he moved in. He used to be withdrawn, but now he has a brighter outlook, enjoys participating in activities, and genuinely looks happier every time I visit. Seeing the positive changes means everything to us!

Greatful for the compassionate care

My father spent the last two years of his life here and was in a caring and nurturing environment. As his health declines, the attention and care he received increased proportionally. When the end came amid the pandemic-related isolation of quarantiene, the staff and caregivers became his "family". We are foreve greatful to the nurses, aides, and administrators who took such great care of my dad.

An experience that was a mismatch with our needs

We selected The Winfield specifically for the level of care in assisted living - this was very important to us. Unfortunately, the level of staff training and approach to the residents was not what we thought it would be. There were a few great staff, but felt a level of hostility from the nursing leadership that led us to move our parent to another facility. Far less important to us was the quality of the food. While we appreciated the willingness to deviate from the menu if a resident wanted something else, the food was pretty underwhelming. We very much appreciate the challenges in staffing and running an assisted living facility and meeting the needs of the residents and their families. We deeply appreciated the care given by some of the very dedicated staff."

Wonderful

Going to Winfield was the best decision we could've made. During the almost 2 1/2 years our mom was here, she received the the best - & caring & friendly - care. This staff goes beyond the "usual", & it shows. Communication was also excellent. Can't say enough, about this outstanding place!

Review for The Winfield at Richmond Heights

They were smaller and seemed homier than some other places, there was no real odor when we toured and for the money the space was a lot bigger than other places we looked at.

Getting back what you put out

I love the fact that they have church & bible study. The people are very friendly. They have a lot of different activities to offer. The janitors are great. My experience with the house keepers , they could do better with the cleaning.

Great staff

The aids and nursing staff I've interacted with are friendly and patient. The dining room servers are patient with my friend. My friend likes the afternoon activities. And the morning exercise. They keep the common areas nice and there is regular carpet cleaning in those areas. The landscaping outside is always nice looking. I think it's basically all canned food. Not sure about the meats. Both my friends there say the food is not great. For an alternative to what ever they have for dinner one night is hot dogs or baloney sandwiches. Not what I would call quality food for the elderly. I was there for a Christmas dinner last year but I'm sorry I can't remember what they fixed... They don't have a menu to choose from. But they do publish the meals by the week for all three meals I believe. At least for lunch and dinner.

Overall a great community spirit.

We are very pleased with The Winfield - friendliness of staff, cleaning of room, food is very good. [name removed] has fun with the activities. We would most definitely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far. [name removed] on the staff does a great job making the residents feeling welcome. All the ladies at the front desk greet everyone as we come in. Activities director makes it fun for everyone!

care you can trust

They have worked closely with our family to make sure my mom received the best care possible. Professional staff is excellent, they also use a good therapy service, Caretenders. I wish the caregivers had better training in dealing with people with dementia. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.

My sister is very happy and everyone is so nice!

My sister is very happy there. Her husband also. Lot of other couples in their situation ( husbands had strokes). The friendly atmosphere is great and was the main reason we decided on The Winfield.

Review for The Winfield at Richmond Heights

We really like the place. Unfortunately my mom was only there for one week. I did shop around snd liked it the best. We picked this community because it was near my sister's home. Loved the facility, and I live out of town.

Fair

Overall the place is nice, clean, and most of the staff are very friendly. My parents are in the assisted living area. I’m pleased with the nursing team. My concerns are that we were promised a certain dietary plan of a fish option daily. This all changed recently. We were told that are parents would have a choice of a dining time. This has changed as well. They have been mandated to a 4:30 dining slot with no exceptions.
