My wife lived in Rose Lane (Memory Care) for approximately 14 months. I personally liked the arrangement of clusters for the residents, with 8 apartments to a cluster and a common area offering seating and a television. Also, each cluster was visible to the central resident assistant work area. Another positive was the excellent meal preparation and proximity to the central kitchen. High marks go to the chef on staff.

Our experience with Bentley Commons has been a good one overall, it is a nice place! The facility is generally clean and well kept, and all of the staff I have met have been friendly and professional. We're very satisfied!

Toured. Wonderful facility with a great program for Assisted Living. The staff seemed kind and the residents happy. All rooms are companion suites which were pretty good. A little too expensive for us.

She is no longer there, she is at a nursing home rehab facility. She does still have a place at Merryvale. While she was there things were good. We do not have any issues or complaints with the staff or the facility.

My parents are so much safer there.

So far it's been great. We are very pleased with the care she has been getting. It's very clean and the staff has been very friendly. They have been very responsive to our needs. They were less expensive than the other places we looked at, and everything was included, so you weren't being charged for ten more minutes of care or that. I also liked that they had companion suites, so if someone comes to stay she still has her own room.

Overall I think they do a good job at All American Assisted Living! It is a nice looking place, and they take great care of the people who live here. I would rate them a 5, but they're going through some growing pains right now, they had a large influx of new residents and have been scaling up their staff.

She seems to be doing alright. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I haven't had complaints about food at all. It's pretty reasonably priced. I like it so far. I don't think anyone is perfect but they are good, I would give them a four out of five.

I had addressed a few things, but overall it has been good. The value is excellent. It's one of the best prices around. Every time I had an issue, calls were returned immediately. Any issues are resolved quickly. They are open. They are accommodating and listen. The All American Assisted Living is a really nice community. It has been a pretty good experience. I am pleased with the services and staff.

My mother in law has been a resident at Bentley Commons at Lynchburg for about 5 weeks now. She is very happy and enjoying all the friendly residents and staff. Mom does enjoy the food and it is a well balanced menu with a good variety. Meals are always on time and the dining room is well organized. The servers are great! They have a great system in place to address emergencies. There are call buttons in the apartments and residents wear pendants. The only down side is trying to get the staff to address any issues that may arise. The management will step in and get the issue resolved quickly.

Bentley Assisted Living is a very nice place overall, and I thought they did an excellent job looking after my loved one. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the staff are all friendly and professional. Unfortunately they had a rather large increase in their prices, and we had to move our loved one to somewhere more affordable.

The one issue is that there was an extra charge for the number of medications that are managed. The laundry was wonderful. That was really good. They do them one resident at a time. They did a great job on that. The food was good, not wonderful , but good. It is conveniently located. The extra fee was really a big deal. It is a lovely property and I recommend it.

The movers said "You can feel the difference in attitude." The way the staff proactively interacts with the memory care residents by making eye contact and conversation creates a very calm and secure environment. My father's needs and wants are anticipated and met equally. The staffing is consistent - no revolving door of caregivers here. Activities need a bit of work but they do a lot with the assisted living side for additional social interaction. The facility is new and and it appears that the growing pains are treated as opportunities to get it right. A positive attitude is everything and they have it in abundance.

So far, so good. I don't think a lot of people participate, but she's there doing the activities. If you want to engage there is plenty to do. I tried the food and it was good. I think I should be kept more informed of everything going on as far as the medical and financial aspect is concerned. I don't understand a lot of the medical services, like the primary care doctor that is there, they don't really have an office, if someone gets sick they will call them and meet you here or there, the medical and prescription is through one place and it wouldn't be my first choice. When there is a new service that they are providing sending notice home rather than just with the resident would be nice. I liked it because it was clean, and friendly, and I liked the idea that the staff knew all the residents, they were friendly towards them, and there are others that have Alzheimers and they can live independently, sort of. Everybody understands the disease, so she has friends that she hangs around with that are in the same boat. She doesn't get made fun of by the other residents here there is no judgement. I hope she can stay there until the end of life.

Mom likes it a lot. They have continental breakfast, and lunch and dinner with a two choice menu. They really have a lot to do. They could do a nicer job with breakfast, it's all very carbohydrate oriented with cereal and oatmeal and bagels and things. Maybe they could add a little protein maybe and omelette station or some boiled eggs, something like that. I liked that there are only about seventy people living there and it has a historic character to it and feels less like a hospital with fireplaces and parlor like places to sit, it has a grand feel to it.

Staff was very friendly and very caring for the residents. Will work out transportation for dads dialysis three times a week.

We did take a tour and liked it. There are nurses on each floor. Dad will decide if he wants to see the place himself. I would recommend it.

The cleanliness is better than average, I'd say there's room for improvement as far as her room is concerned. They clean once a week, with her dementia she's more careless than she used to ever be so it may just be that she's being careless with dropping things on the floor; so I can't really blame them, I just think they could clean a little more often. I'm a little concerned about the care because she was approved for assisted living at the summit and they say they're checking on her every 2 hours but I'm kinda concerned because I don't know if they're just glancing in her room or really checking on her. The other night there was an incident, she had had a bad dream and she told me about it. She had called my brother about 6 times in the night and she was just talking gibberish and he called the main number and had to leave a message for the nurse and she didn't call him back until later the next day. I feel like if they do check on her every 2 hours, and this went on for several hours, they would have seen her up and about. I haven't talked to the director of nursing yet and I intend to, to be fair, they could be checking on her and I can't really trust what my mother says

Bentley Commons is beautiful. I rate it A+ for cleanliness, friendliness of all staff including the ones we met in the hall. Dining area is very clean and choice of meals is excellent. The one and two bedroom apts that we viewed were huge as well as the companion apt. The studio was a bit on the small side. The grounds are beatiful,they have great daily scheduled activities along with postings thruout the halls.
